Before xbox started microsoft was ignoring gamers as much as possible.Some train/plane sims and AOE and a diablo clone and out of nothing they presented the xbox pretending to be gamers best friend.I always supposed they only will use console gaming just as another tool to bring windows to the people.But they did a great job with console online gaming and though i got angry because they dropped xbox1 so fast the 360 line up was so good and peter moore the right man doing the right job and i started believing that they have really interesst in gaming but since he left and after kinect and the massive kinect support and moving away from core gaming turning the ultimate game console into casual best friend multimedia machine I knew I was right with not trusting them.

And being MS friend was extremely dangerous in the 80ies and 90ies because they were either trying to push you out of the game or to take you over(or if you are too big just take over the part of the company they are interessted in)and I think if MS-"friend"Nokia is starting to get into big trouble with their mobile division MS(who has put 2 MS workers at nokias top positions)will come and "save" nokia by microsofting them.

If the xbox 3 is released with windows8 and kinect we will see for sure that 1-2 year after xbox3 release the first party core game support will be dropped the same way it happened with the 360 when moore left(but i'm pretty sure the xbox3 starting line up will be really good)

Very Sony Nintendo ish to me. Good hope Microsoft puts Sony in the ground for good. I honestly hate Sony as of lately so yeah

Microsoft makes more money on Console Business than the Entire Sony together.

And by this guy Xbox division is nothing for Microsoft.

Anyway XBLA is making bilions and Xbox Live, plus Software Sales...

I dont know about hardware but Xbox as of 2008 must be gangbusters profitable.

Microsoft tries to partner with everyone, push things certain way and coexist.  Moment this gets turned against them, and people don't show willingness to partner, they will turn into an enemy.  This isnt surprising.  Microsoft buried Novell after it had decided that, not only would it provide the networking infrastructure for Microsoft's OS, it was also going to launch Linux.  And other things go on, like with IBM and so on.

That means that both MS and Sony fans should be thanking Nintendo, since Sony only got into the console business because of Nintendo.

It can't be karma when Sony originally had NO interest in persuing the Playstation project after Nintendo abandoned it.  It was Ken Katuragi that pushed it.  And to think that both Nintendo and Sega didn't have their own serious missteps during that same time period that helped propel the PlayStation namebrand is either ignorant or just plain denial.  Your biasness at its best.

Nothing really new but it should open some of these people's eyes. The Xbox business isn't this immensely profitable division for Microsoft like some make it out to be.
