Forums - Microsoft - Former MS executive: Microsoft doesn't make very much on videogames

@VGK
Nightsurge is right, 15m Gold users...I believe the figure is "paid for", and the total Live users is something like 30m or a bit less. That means 15m Gold, 15m Silver.

This comes from the figure of 12m out of 25m in Dec. 2010, and press releases stating 10% increases for the past two years.

That would explaing why they want so much money from gamers.

What part of this OP is everyone disagreeing with?
He says MS makes very little on xbox.

MS made a 350m profit for the 12 months ending june 30 2012.
Their total annual profit is 16B$.

It's like 2% of all income.
OP doesn't actually say anything wrong.

They did enter to get rid of Sony, and they spent a lot doing it, and don't make a whole lot compared to what the company makes. Don't know why everyone is so upset.

Neat, It's like the same reason Sony entered the console market.

It's a common hardware manufacturers theme. Atari "spurned" Nintendo. Nintendo "spurned" Sony. Sony "spurned" MS. I wonder who's going to be next.
