Forums - Microsoft - Is this Project Gotham Racing 5's teaser art?

It seems news regarding Sony and Microsoft's next-gen consoles are becoming more and more rampant as we go deeper in 2013. This time, we might have "proof" that Microsoft's Xbox 720 is set for release later this year.

Based on rumors, Microsoft's other racing franchise, Project Gotham Racing, was being worked on for the Xbox 720. It was speculated that it was in development at Liverpool-based studio Lucid Games.

The studio, which consists of ex-Criterion and Bizaare Creations staff has no announced games at the moment. However, that hasn't stopped the leaks from pouring out. Over on LinkedIn profile of the studio's character animator, a blurry image was uncovered with the following blurb that states, "Currently working as animator on a soon to be announced game."

In Lucid Games' official site, you can then see the image of what seems to be a road that wouldn't look out of place in a Project Gotham Racing title. Not only that, but there's also a "Road Opens 2013" sign plastered across it, which leads us to believe that the game's reveal or release is indeed schedule for 2013.

Here's the image:

If this is indeed for Project Gotham Racing 5, then chances are high that it is slated for the Xbox 720. Does this confirm a 2013 release for Microsoft's next-gen console? We can't say for sure, but based on all the evidence that's been coming out, I really wouldn't be surprised if we get the Xbox successor before the year's done.

Any Xbox fans excited for this or would you rather it was a next-gen Halo game that will "open roads" this year?

The graphics are simple enough for it  to be a fake. I remain unconvinced.

That image looks like Forza 3 graphics. Wouldn't be too hard to fake an image of that graphical quality.

It isnt a fake image.  It is on lucid Game's website

London! Woo

I really liked PGR 4, so I really hope this isn't real, I don't want to have to buy an Xbox...

Ok, I stand corrected. It really does look like a semi-competent fake to me though, the quality doesn't look high enough for an actual advertisement.

funny how quick some are to call this fake.

It is on Lucid Game's website.  Why does people insist this on being a fake? lol  We dont know what game it is but it is certainly real lol

You people seem to be getting the wrong impression. I don't WANT this to be fake, and I'm not trying to troll, if that's what's being implied.

I just expected a much higher quality image than that from a teaser for a Nextbox racer, I expected it to try to show off the graphics with an ultra-real looking pic. This made me skeptical at first, given how common fakes are today.

I say do it. PGR5 in the start of the gen and then hit us with Forza 5 in 2014.

Short answer: "Yes" with an "If,"
Long answer: "No" -- with a "But."

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
