Truth is, the future has never looked brighter. We're working hard with Sony Computer Entertainment to advance our cloud gaming platform, and

no matter what it does it never seems to compete in America. I think the install base already had a 360 or friends with it by the time PS3 got priced competitively. Even in years like 09 and 11 when PS3 had incredible first party offerings and price reductions it couldn't make a dent. Europe on the other hand...
Nope, too many exclusive titles coming out for the PS3
No chance. The people buying PS3s right now are the mainstream. Besides. PS4 probably won't even play PS3 games so.....

You are heavily misinformed. PS3 is very much competitive in America. In fact in 2009, the release of the PS3 slim sales stood at 4.1m for PS3 and 4.7m for 360 in America. It's all about pricing and marketing. The Slim PS3 provided a decrease in price and a resurgance in consoumer interested through a new redesign and more marketing and promotions.
It's only recently when the Ps3 has struggled to keep up with the 360 in America. That is due to the release of Kinect and the continued gap in prices.(in XBox 360s favor). I say Sony should release that 12gig PS3 Super Slim here in the US and couple that with a price cut across the board. A perfect time to announce this would be at the Playstation Meeting.
Possibly but that is taking into consideration people are aware of the PS4. People on the internet well of course, but im talking about everybody else.
"
Also for how long too. I still expect the NeXbox to be announced before E3. No console has ever been announced at E3 but Im not counting it out since that timer has been put up. I still think it will be announced in march or April though.

I agree about the 12gb and LoU seems to be getting a lot of attention from American consumers so hopefully it'll catch up soon for weekly sales.

I mean, what kind of moron would buy a PS3 when they know that its successor is just around the corner? |
I don't think most people who buy a PS3/360 now are huge hardcore gamers, or they might not plan on buying a PS4/Nextbox anytime soon.
My PS3 broke a long time ago, and I've held off buying a new one because I expected PS4 to release soon.....and I bought a Wii instead
. However I've been hearing rumors that PS4 will not be backward compatible with PS3 games, at least not without an $85 attachment.
So, if I didn't have a pile of 360/Wii games to beat, I would have considered buying a PS3, specifically after the PS4 was announced for BC.
Also, I've had a bad experience with Non Nintendo First gen systems. My PS1-PS3 were all first gen, all broke, and my 360.....yea....., but all under warrenty at least, and the last model I got has been solid for the last 2 years. So when I eventually get a PS4, I'll probably wait for a redesign. It's not like the PS3 had that many good games until 2009, so I don't need a PS4 until 2015 or so.
As to the question, I give it 20%. Gears of War might come with a bundle, and that might boost sales enough for 360 to surpass PS3 for a single week. However I bet a NextBox announcement will come soon after a PS4 announcement. Also 360 is down more YoY so...... yea
