Forums - General - It has finally been decided as to who would win Goku vs. Superman

When was Superman invented? Because I feel the writers had no sense of limitations.

No matter what, a SS3 Goku is way stronger and faster then Superman. Goku was totally dumbed down.

1938 was his first appearance.  It has fluctuated depending on the writer to make plots easier.   It's hard to write plots for a person who is invincible, but he basically is.  Goku has limitations, a fully realized Superman who is able to let loose, he's basically God.  I feel like a lot of people are fighting from nostalgia about Goku and little knowledge of Superman here.

Like they say in the video, his plots were often not about reaching a new power level, because he already had it all inside.  It was more about dealing with being an immigrant in a new world, one that to him was seemingly made of cardboard. Identity, stuff like that.

And because he's been around so long in a medium that goes on forever like comics, his comics often times reflect the mood of the times.  He's been around a long time, some variation is expected.  But his strength has been dumbed down in cartoons a lot to accomodate his Justice League buddies.

I agree with this video. Nobody can beat Superman. Being indestructable basically wins it, because well, he can't be destroyed.

For this fight to work you need the strongest iterations of both to do battle.

Superman Prime vs. SSJ4 Goku

FIGHT!

LOL!

That's getting ridiculous XD.

Immortality, immune to everything including Kryptonite, omniscient, omnipresent (how can you beat being everywhere at once), he can lift the multiverse (wtf?) with his godlike strenght and his heat vision is hotter than a million times the core of the sun and more! Even if Goku could beat the regular Superman, it's impossible for even hypothetical Goku SSJ5million to beat that!

Naturally.

Goku is WAY more powerful and capable than Superman, but Superman has no known weaknesses other than Cryptonite, so its really a hard choice...

Superman and Goku are both prime examples of the crap that DC Comics and Shonen Jump usually churn out. How someone can stand all the plotholes, asspulls and overall senseless illimited power-ups is beyond me.

Phew. After that rant, it's good to comment something a bit more constructive for a change. It's not superpowers that make characters great guys... that's what makes them a gimmick.

It's their limitations, see? Limitations. That's the keyword.

well Its caculable is the speed of thougth.

its fast but not enougth

Well from the comments it sounds like Superman will win. However, does no one remember that Goku had to leave Earth at the end of DBGT because he was too powerful?

He who hesitates is lost

I was all for Goku and i don't give a shit bout OP Supes, but i agree Superman would win, but just as the video showed if they would fight to death the whole planet would be destroyed and so none of them would have anywhere to go so basically it's a tie.

However even if Goku lost, i can relate more to Goku then to Superman. It's like they said Superman never had any limits (tho he gets beatn up all the time) and Goku is one that never gives up, keeps believing in his powers and in others by doing his best to surpass his limits.

In respect to Goku's speed they calculated earlier. Their number is stupid.

Earlier in the video they said that instant transmission was "instant" Thus its speed is "infinity" Not whatever they calculated.

I don't really care who is stronger. I like both people. And as they said at the end. Strength isn't what their about. Goku's story is about overcoming odds of strength. Superman's story is about overcoming odds of diversity.

So wouldn't story wise Goku win the fight and yet Superman become Goku's friend or something like that?

I was under the impression that teleportation requires too much energy for Goku to make use of it in the heat of battle, which is why he has to rely on his natural speed.

Well when he fought Perfect Cell while using the Kamehameha he also used instant transmission at the same time to appear under him and blast it upwards.

Instant transmision requires concentration, thats why he wouldnt be able to use it in the heat of the battle

Goku would be much more powerful, but the problem is he cant really damage Superman with standard energetic/physical attacks...
