Some star power would have made a difference. Easy there on casting the game to the curb to justify Sonys actions. |
read my post above Sony is mostly at faught. but the dev team still did a terrible job

Well assuming that both of them, SSBB and PASBR have actually the same concept more or less, the comparison is fair. Comparing to the likes of Street Fighter wouldn't be that much fair.

SSBM best fighter of all time! Followed by marvel vs capcom, killer instict and SSBB! |
I was talking about the generation. But then again we could have a nice little chat about the best fighter of all time.
I wonder what will happen to that new playstation game if they sever their ties to the company.
One more thing to complete my year = senran kagura localization =D

Lol, everyone really ganged up on you for this post.
Don't really blame them, though. ;-P

ugh there are people who think all stars is one of the best fighting games and the same obviously goes to smash (much more as that franchise has a much bigger fanbase)
again you can't say someone is wrong about what the 'best' in a genre can be..it's preference.
A LOT of things went wrong with this project sadly and they got too much negative feedback from the gaming world. I feel bad for them as it's such a fun game. We even had some pretty badass co op games here at vgc.
My hope is that, with Seth being a big part of Santa Monica now, they will grab some of the talent of Superbot and make a mascot brawler again in the future. I will really miss it if they don't

I would imagine Sony are just going to stop investing in them altogether soon. Twisted Metal, Starhawk & PSABR all pretty much flopped last year and caused big layoffs, despite the fact that the games were generally pretty good. That's not counting all the teams not just at Sony that have been shutting down from just one game underperforming (despite doing well previously) - studios like Eurocom, Dark Energy Digital, Radical Entertainment etc. etc. This industry is falling apart. |
I just want to know what the budget for this game was
The game couldn't have costed much because there was like no game modes, the cutscenes were like short still-cartoons, and the graphics were just "good" for what it was
I'm guessing SuperBot had WAAAAAAYYYY too many people working on something that really only needed a fraction of the people so they laid the excess off. I guess Sony decided to cut ties from them since they didn't deliver as good as they should have with the game but it's still Sony's fault for not getting the word out to the people WHO ARE NOT people on forums like us who generally always know more than the average consumer
and i think this industry needs a change. That change is a relatively good NEW console that doesn't cost a leg and an arm to get. I really think that the PS4's launching at $399 will really slap this industry into shape

| axumblade said: My personal issue is that Sony do not know how to market their games now. People aren't going to buy a game if they don't know what the hell they are buying. And seeing real life characters from games doesn't guarantee people have any idea what the hell is going on in the commercials. They need to start showing gameplay. If they're so focused on showing off what their games are capable of, why do they have to have live action commercials? You forgot to mention the THQ fiasco though. It's terrible seeing a company you've known since you were a child on its last breath. I'm looking at Atari as well since they just filed for bankruptcy recently as well. |
Well, you're completely right about that too of course. And about THQ (for some reason they completely slipped my mind, although I wasn't short of other studios to list who had gone under recently).
I worry that the future is just going to be made up of indie games and AAA titles, which would absolutely blow in my opinion. The industry needs the middle.

Yes I heard of them, I actually played them. I still hold my position. |
I dont consider it a fighter, SSB is hardly a fighting game imo.
