this game was fine in fact compared to many others was quite good. but as a FF game was not good at all but the game should of been reviewed for the game it was so have to disagree with the low score.

I liked XIII and XIII-2, dumped good 60 hours into each. I understand some of the criticisms, but Final Fantasy lost its luster years ago as to me the series hit rock bottom with VIII and X.

oh thanks Im not alone then. I thought FFXIII was an awesome game, I read EVERYTHING! every journey thingy EVERYTHING I really got into the story, I liked it.

I still have not started XIII-2 but I want to, once I have enough time for a 40h+ journey! :)



I officialy know too much now.

I didn't make it pass FFXIII so I didn't play FFXIII-2, but I'm guessing it improved but you can't fix a trainwreck.

It was MUCH MUCH MUCH better than FF13, but still a very mediocre and enjoyable FF game.

I can't believe people think its better then FFXIII.

XIII-2 is one of the worst games I've ever played. Worst story ever (completely nonsensical), shit characters, shit pacing, shit scenarios/set piece, recycled everything... And all the weapons you buy have the exact same design, they're just coloured differently lol. In 2012 that was F-ing ridiculous

The funny thing is that FFXIII received much better reviews then XIII-2. And then suddenly after the fan backlash, all these journalists who gave the game great scores started to make out like the game was terrible. Regardless of what you thought of XIII, the team actually tried to achieve something. XIII-2 was simply an attempt to generate revenue from assets, in fact its so forced they re-wrote the end of the 1st game just to validate its existence and then tried to justify the made up cannon through terrible time travelling mechanics.

 

IGN belittle XIII in every FF article yet their review score for the game is 8.9 lol

I tend to disagree. if u played ff13 and telling me that u beat semi final and final bosses with auto attack, then u are wrong. BUT: ff13 only led to autoattack if u previously worked hard to get the class role switching and paradigms well organised. and that was the basic of fighting. timing switching between paradigms was so fun and seemlesly implemented and then u had to figure out the best setup ofc chars roles and paradigms

I agree. I loved the battle system, fluid, dynamic, fast paced and easy to master. Can get plenty strategic if you care about being as efficient as possible. If you're just spamming auto battle every time, you're doing it wrong.
