If that makes you feel better about its sales, you go right ahead and think that.

Resident Evil 6 was made by Capcom right? hows that doing atm? bad right? and thats always been a bigger game then DMC, So could you imagine if they made DMC5 themselfs? it prop would of sucked big time unlike DmC wich is a great action game. And with DMC5 sucking so much (most likely would of happend with how RE6 turned out), It would of got crap reviews and with it being the end of the gen where lots of games are selling bad atm would of most likely sold in line with this game imo. |
And you know why people bitched about RE6? They have been straying farther and farther from survival horror since 3. 4 had a good balance. 5 had more action than horror. And according to what I've heard, RE6 went even further with action, even introducing regenerating health. Point is, you change a game to appeal more to casuals or the mainstream crowd, you abandon the core audience (the ones that have been making the franchise money from day one), and your sales will decline. So no, if they made a DMC5 in the same vein as the original DMCs, there sales wouldn't have been this poor.
I also find it ridiculous that all of the DmC supporters really have nothing to attack the DMC fans with except Dante's hair color. It just shows you really have no argument against them, and therefore must make the original fans out to be shallow gamers. As if NT could have still turned Dante into a scrawny emo (who's personality we hate), and made all those poor changes to the combat and controls, and we would have eaten it up as long as his hair was white. Also, to imply that no one gave the game a chance? It had a demo on Live and PSN, which is where ALL the complaints about gameplay/control and difficulty came from. AFTER people played the demo. DMC fans did give it a chance, didn't like it, so therefore voted with their wallets. And there most likely won't be a DmC sequel becuse of it. You just need to accept it and move on, without bashing those fans.

Sounds cheap.
People don't care about the series anymore? I guess thats why the DMC HD Collection has sold 750K which for a HD collection are nice numbers.
Fans and general public voted with their wallets, I'm enjoying so much all your delicious tears. Ninja Theory has 3 bombs in a row now and since Itsuno is working hard on Dragon's Dogma 2 Capcom should beg Platinum to do DMC5 but it won't happen since DmC killed the franchise.

To the bolded, if Resident Evil stayed true it would of sold more too, but capcom done it by themselfs, what makes you think they wouldnt of done the same thing with DMC5 if they made it themselfs??. To the rest of what you have to say. Reason why DmC supporters say its about the hair cos it pretty much is. What else have they got to complain about? the game is great, its not as easy as they tried to say it was. It has a great main character (even if his not the dante they remember). He is in no way emo as if you think his emo you must think the old dante is super emo. and the combat is great with so many different combos and moves you can use. And also the Demo was crap. That answer it for you?. |
Resident Evil 6 = DmC
Both games are a dumbed down version of their former self made to appeal to a mass western audience. DMC5 would have been made by the DMC Team (Hideaki Itsuno), yes they fuck up DMC2 but came back strong with 3 and 4. The only problem with DMC4 is that it is half a game due to limited time on develpment, gameplay wise its the best in the series.

Whatever about their last 2 games no one can deny this game is great. Its got great reviews from every online review site and magazine, and everyone who has played it has said its great (Except for some DMC fans who a bitter cos of the hair). But hey its nice to know you think a company that put so much hard work into a game should pretty much crash and burn. |
Reviews huh? Well I like to think by myself and not let others decide what I like or want, I played the demo and as a stand alone game its ok but as a Devil May Cry game is a gigantic step back in gameplay, just my opinion. I don't want Ninja Theory to close I just don't want them to dumb down another DMC game and the fans agree on that voting with their wallets.

And you just proved my point. You have no argument, so all you say is the game is great and that people who don't like it because of his hair color. People hated how he looked, not because of the hair, but because he looked like a crackhead emo. They hated his immature attitude, saying fuck all the time like it was cool. Then, they got their hands on the demo, and they thought it sucked. The combat wasn't the same, nor were the controls. And it was too easy, both in difficulty and in the ability to rack up a SSS. When they brought their criticisms to NT, they basically were told that's how the final game will be, so deal with it.
Also, if you think the original Dante looks more emo than the new one, you have no idea what emo looks like.

Andy Serkis' mocap studio are world leaders, from the source of the story you linked BTW
"James Cameron saw the potential of performance capture when, following a visit to Ninja Theory shooting scenes for the visually stunning Heavenly Sword on location in New Zealand, Peter Jackson, director of the Lord of the Rings, showed him some of Ninja Theory’s tracking technology. Matthews, however, is swift to point out: “I don’t think we can claim any credit for inspiring Avatar."
So you could say that Avatar used some of the same staff and studio as Ninja Theory. Andy Serkis has a long history of working with Ninja Theory and they developed a lot of mocap tech together. Not cheap but really it's not like they haven't done the same on their last couple games, it's the same studio and crew they have been using it just so happens that big movies such as Avatar and Lord of the Rings also use the mocap studio, they just happen to have used the Avatar team and space after they were done with the film.

Its ok you already said you think DMC4 is the best in the series so i know already not to listen to your opinion on action games just by that alone Also the game was a big improvement over DMC 4 the only game in the DMC series that could maybe top this game is DMC 3 as imo both of them a very close. This isnt only an Ok action game this is a great action game, maybe if you go play the full game you will find that out This is coming from a big action game fan and a DMC fan, I have played every action game from GoW, to DMC, to Baynota etc, and this stands up there with them all easy imo. |
First of all learn to read I wrote that gameplay wise DMC4 was the best of the series, DMC3 is the overall best game of the series.
And second why would I buy a game which I think is a gigantic step back based on the demo? Thats why demos are for right? It didn't entice me to buy it, MGR demo on the other hand convince me to buy it.
