Forums - Nintendo - Rockstar: "Nothing New" on GTA5 WiiU

People actually expect this game on the WIIU.. ;/

Can you provide any better reason for why, when asked if the game is coming to the Wii U, they simply say that every system is up for consideration? And why, when asked later, they just say "nothing more to say right now"? And given that it's almost guaranteed to come to PC, why would they not separate PC from Wii U in their response?

It's not rhetorical - what's a better explanation for it?

Maybe the release was pushed back to actually have more time finishing the PC/WiiU port...

I WISH! Maybe later down the line but I think they would need more then 4 months to port the game.

IF they will release a port I'm pretty sure they have already started. Porting a game this big in 4 months should be pretty much impossible.

I'd say it's a good sign, possibly, given that other companies have been quite unafraid to say "lol no" if that was the actual answer (Konami, EA)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

This is relatively good news for those hoping for the game on the Wii U or the PC, namely the former. Perhaps we'll hear about it at that 3rd party Nintendo Direct next week (I think)?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

i'm pretty sure the original release day was delayed because of the wii u.(take 2 being convinced by some nintendo money)
8 months should be enough for a port and September is the right time to start the fight with ps460 and if this game is released on wii u(combined with a new mario) but not on ps460 nintendo will have a good weapon to fight the next gen huge marketing campaignes and new games like gears and uncharted.

If I were Rockstar, and it wasn't coming to a specific format, I would deny it outright as soon as possible, so that the potential customer would buy it on the format it was available and not wait for another format.

I agree with you and they did deny it for ps4. If it wasn't ever going to happen they would have denied it by now. IF this delay really was to accomodate a wii u version nintendo's e3 is going to be very entertaining. Still I doubt it.

Edit @ spurg but that will ruin their impact man. They need some surprises. I am actually enjoying them pretending some of these leaked games don't exist.

One more thing to complete my year = senran kagura localization =D

Oh, I so hope you're right about that.

Actually, I kind of hope that Nintendo blows a raspberry at Sony by holding their 3rd party Wii U Direct the day before Sony's special announcement, with some major exclusive (some akin to getting Monster Hunter Tri).

Not so much because I have anything against Sony, but because it would be a hilarious thing to do, timing-wise. Oh, and because I'd love to see some sort of major Wii U exclusive show up, to help drive sales more, in the hopes that more third-party support shows up in the future.

GTA V Wii U timed exclusive is unlikely, but would be so great to see, in terms of the internet meltdown it would cause. So would Final Fantasy Versus XIII exclusive (again, not that it's going to happen). Basically, I want to see some sort of internet meltdown, because they're entertaining to watch.

Most likely late, sloppy ports on both Wii U and PC. I really have no respect for companies that start out on PC, and then shaft the base that made them. The least they could do, was to put some efford into it and release it on the same date. But let them have it their way. No good PC version, no buy from me.

They started to forget the PC a long time ago, GTA 4 was a bad port and they didn't launch Red Dead Redemption on PC.

Be happy if GTA 5 arrives on PC

Why shouldn't it be on Wii U?
