Forums - Nintendo - WiiU selling for 259/309 @Amazon.de

Today in Spain the chain store Media Markt is doing it's "day without VAT" promotion so you would pay 247.10 € for the Basic and 288.43 € for the Premium one(*).

I'll try to go when I get off from work to get one.

(*) That price is assuming the 349.00 € it usually costs, but since they usually sell it for 338.00 € it could end being 279.34 €.

Gracias! I've updated the OP with this info, so that Spaniards can take advantage of it :)

When are they putting up the new sales charts?

...i'd just like to take a moment to remind all of our european consumers to take a second look at those non-vat prices. doing a straight conversion of US prices (pre-tax) vs. european prices (post vat) are not comparable.

Sorry but, what do you mean with that?

it's totally off topic.  it's just every few months someone starts a thread to complain that european prices are a rip off compared to american prices and then does a direct comparision of US and Europeon market listing and then starts complaining about MS, Sony, Nintendo, ect.

that listing for a "no vat" sales in spain reminded me of this.  once you subtract vat prices are really quite comparable between the regions.  so to all the future haters -- it's not nintendo/whoever that is ripping you off.

./end of rant

Ok. It's just that I'm a bit slow today and I didn't get your post.

And I agree that we should compare the prices in the same way, but given that in Europe the VAT is different from each country, we can't use a single number. Btw, VAT in Spain is 21%.

^ I remember I did that comparison when someone complained the US was getting the worst deal, and you then re-did the comparison to include an average European tax to it.

EDIT: And I've removed the Spanish deal, since that is already over.

Anyway, the Amazon "amazing" deal still going strong for any takers.
