Forums - Nintendo - Is Pokemon going a generation too far?

By the way I disagree with this article. I think pokemon still looks fine and the gameplay is amazing and addicting. Easily my favorite JRPG games and some of my favorite games of all time. In fact Black/White has been my favorite since Crystal so I actually think they are improving.

I cant wait for X/Y

Same here, article is flawed (second gen has 100 new Pokemon, not 150. Only Gen 1 and Gen V has 150 or more). Also last sentence:

Is Pokemon going a generation too far, or is it completely appropriate for another generation to arise?

What is the difference between the two options? IGN is clearly out of touch.

I'm interested in buying a 3DS for Pokemon Y. Need to see some more info to make a final decision though!

me too... after crystal i thought it is a complete downhill.... black is almost at par with crystal imo.... i just hope x and y will be the new benchmark on the modern pokemon... i thought it will be black and white...but looking at the trailer... black and white seems to be the ending of the 1st gen (1-5 gen) pokemon.

Maybe ninty are making a new pokemon stadium using the NFC tech, but instead of figures they may use cards.

From a business point of view, it would be utterly retarded NOT to release a new generation of Pokemon on 3DS.

Considering how many people (myself included) will buy a 3DS just for this game hard to disagree with your point. When the game was annouced people were saying Nintendo had just murdered the PS Vita.

Pokemon is needed, not only to boost sales for 3DS but for the children of this generation who are getting tons of crap on tv, they need a childhood... Give them Pokémon!

The designs are getting bad but I love the games I hope they don't stop making them.

I agree, I think the best designs overall were in gen 2. These new starters in particular for XY are kinda bad... the FireFox (totally going to be its nickname) is the only passable one. And I always went water :(
