Forums - Microsoft - Everyone says MS needs to up the ante in response to PS+. Consider the ante upped

Who said Sony was doing something wrong? Everybody! The mere fact 360 is still ahead in spite of the momentum Sony had from PS2 demonstrates they did a lot wrong. The only reason Sony has been able to close the gap is because they sacrificed billions of dollars. The fact they haven't closed the gap, laughable.

There is a single simple reason why 360 is ahead.

MS capitalized on the FPS market boom in America and has the top FPS games. You cannot attribute a single other thing to this theory of yours because the only places 360 is ahead is NA and UK.

Well, that and the HUGE price difference MS made sure to keep in place up until 2009, when the entry price for the PS3 was still $100 more than the 360's.  But, I wouldn't waste too much time arguing with him.  It seems he's upset that 360 owners are the only ones paying for these services, as PS3, Vita, Wii, 3DS, and PC owners don't have to.  I think if MS doesn't change how they do online for next gen, it's only going to hurt them when people realize there are services just as good, maybe better by then, for no extra charge.

What exactly is the upping the ante to freemium content you have while subscribing, and games at reduced prices?

And who is this "everyone"?  I don't see Bill Gates or Microsoft saying it needs to be upped.

I am sorry, whoever thinks that PSN is anywhere as user friendly as XBL in terms of accessibility is delusional. It takes fucking hours to patch and hours to load up anything, store included. Albeit lately the last few dashboard updates have made it into a clusterfuck, but its still a lot simpler and seems to be considerably faster. 500mb patches on PS3 everywhere, whereas there a few select games on 360 that exceed more than 20-30 and the mutliplatforms are on par or even slightly better in terms of bug/glitch fixes.

When 360 was still using the blades dashboard, it was so much easier to find ANYTHING on there, whereas now it's a lot more complicated than it used to be with all the added crap of multimedia.

And I still insist that lack of cross gaming chat is a massive let down.

I still don't understand why PS fans seems to care so much about a service that no one forces them to pay for and continue to insist that it's on par when it lacks the basic feature of cross gaming chat, just stick to your PS3 rather than be that "good" crusader on the internet, bringing down the greedy Microsoft corporation. Unless PSN has had massive patches in the last year, tis really nothing to shout home about, but hey at least it's free, so I don't really have much of an expectation for it I suppose.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

LOL, love it.

Breaking news: We can now freely access a service that we have to pay to use, but only for the weekend.

Hahaha. Exactly. Some guy on YouTube tried to feed me some bs on how Live is so much better than PSN. All of his points were either false or his personal opinon/preference. That really sucks they have to pay the Live fee and Netflix fee to access the service.

It's sad how xbox owners think that Live is much better than PSN.

It gives me access to play better games online. That's what makes it better.

Yes... "Better" games. Subjective much?

OT: Well MS does this offer thingies all the time. It works for now, but lets wait and see how receptive will gamers be for a payed online service next-gen

No, the 360 is ahead because Sony released a $600 piece of hardware.

If Sony didn't do that PS3 would be ahead. Sony gave away its marketshare.
