Forums - Sony - PS Plus Will Carry Over To The PS4, "Here To Stay"

I would be perfectly happen to get games like Uncharted 3 and Killzone 3 on the PS+ Instant Game Collection for the PS4 to begin with. Most people would be understanding about that, I think. It's not like the recent PS3 games would become bad just because the PS4 released.

I will wait and get the PS4 when they give it away free on PS+.

LOL! Well yeah, that would be nice ... but then again, maybe we will eventually be able to play PS4 games through Gaikai on the PS3! That IS a possibility

One of the possible benefits that I can see with PSN is how it can be a potential way to increase customer loyalty when transitioning into the next generation. If Sony can find a way to reward current PS3 owners to support their next console (e.g., access to their current PSN library on their PS4, rewards for plus members, etc.), as well as continue to not penalize those unable to afford subscriptions (i.e., online play remains free), they may be able to hold onto more of their fanbase than they did in the previous generation, even if their competitors launch first.

Obviously Xbox Live gives Microsoft a similar position, and I personally will be watching the next few months to see how Microsoft and Sony utilize their subscription and user strategies.

This isn't surprising, I mean PS+ is the best and most original service they've come up with (or any of them have in my opinion). They'd be mad not to carry it over.

Well if the source is real and legit, that pretty much confirms backwards compatibility imho. At least with PSN titles.

It seems like an obvious move. Keep the fanbase with a subscription happy and allow games to carry over. I'm just curious what sort of offerings they will give within the initial first few months of launch as their won't be many PS4 games available yet.

that's good to know, although you'd think PS+ would carry over considering PS3 will continue to get support.

Thats awesome but I dont know how they are making money of this. people pay only about $4 a month. each month has like 5 free games. If they have a million subscribers thats only $4 million. for the 5 games surely they would be paying a couple of hundred thousand to each publisher. and then theres all the othercosts involved with maintaining the service. Profit would likely be quite small. love the service though.

I would take that with a grain of salt. I've learned not 2 trust what they say on the playstation blog.
