It is probably an related family member of PVT Jordan Briggs. Maybe some DLC (chapter/character) for Gears of war Judgement.

Thats possible, but if that were the case wouldn't EPIC be the ones filing the application?

Exactly, Microsoft owns no part of Gears but to pay for Epic to make it for them. Truthfully, as good as Epic is Microsoft is holding back their main development team from making the games they truly want to make. last heard they are going to focus on PC big time next gen.

Gears was set up to be made into a trilogy.  Gears Judegement is not made by EPIC.  Gears is easily the most successful EPIC title.  Your statments makes no sense.  We know nothing about EPIC and there future other than that they are bringing the new Unreal Engine and Fortnite.  Beyond that we know nothing.

Yeah, they are the secondary team working on the same engine as Gears 3. Next Gears game needs a new engine and the main team would have to work on it again. They said they want to focus on PC gaming more next gen.

MSFT doesnt own Gears.  EPIC chooses what to do with it and they keep making it.  Im sure MSFT pays them a lot to do it but EPIC is completely independent and choose what they want to do.

Kinda feels like its dragging on. I mean I am buying the next one, but it just feels like they are tacking on the story. The main monumental part is done and accomplished everything else is just a side story in the matter. I am starting to feel the same way about any extra games for Mass Effect.

Well, they have to.

They cant honestly think that can keep winging it with Halo, Gears, Forza and Fable.

Shit, if Zelda, Mario, Metroid and Mario again can do it, why not?

OT: Now that would be some shocking news.

Nintendo makes 1 or 2 per console gen and their consoles always have a new twist on those franchises due to hardware. How many halos, gears, fables and forzas has the 360 got? Remind me. Oh i remember... 4 each. No, Nintendo isnt worse.

Halo has a story that follows a path, Nintendo games dont exactly do that, which is why they never end.

Yeah poor Epic. Must suck to make millions on three games that each have 6,000,000+ people playing them. Millions  and millions of dollars which were put to use by aquiring studios like Chair, People Can Fly, and Big Huge Games. Not to mention gave them a steady stream of revenue while they worked on Unreal Engine 4.

I mean wow, MS should be ashamed of themselves.

"Tuesday during a presentation at Gamescom in Germany, EpicGames president Mike Capps made a statement that should see PC gamers and hardware manufacturers dancing with glee in the streets: the company is refocusing its attention back to the PC. The news is a bit surprising given that, just a few months ago, it was suggested that the console sector is where the real money resides."

"Right now the Raleigh, N.C.-based studio is working on five, unnamed titles not related to the Gears of Warseries. "At Epic, we didn't multiply the studio size by five when we started working on these multiple projects," answered Capps when asked if the projects would be just as large as what went into the Gears of War titles. "So you can make some assumptions about the size of those projects."

Yes....theres nothing poor about them. Its Microsoft is dependent on PC devs whom are doing their own thing.

For starters that quote is from August of 2011. We're now in 2013 and I am yet to see any actual focus back on PC gaming from Epic. This does noting to back up your original comment. In fact it only reinforces mine. 5 new games in the works, thanks to the money they made making Gears of War. I mean, those poor guys. While many other publishers are closing studios and firing people, they aquired 3-4 new studios this gen and are now expanding their library. Clearly they didn't want to do any of that.

What Mike Capps said at that convention in 2011 and what you are implying in this thread are two extremely different things. Epic is going to focus more on smaller titles and less on huge AAA console mega titles because the risk is too great for failure. The types of games they have already had success with, like Infinity Blade, and Shadow Complex. Games they made while working on Gears of War. So your statement about how MS is "holding them back from making the games they want to make" is clearly incorrect, as they have already made them while also working with MS.

Do you have any actual links to direct quotes from developers at Epic talking about how they wanted to make such and such game but were too busy churning out another Gears of War? No? Just your usual anti-MS stuff? Ok.

As ive said before there is probably something going on inside EPIC that we are unaware of seeing as how many big EPIC members has left recently including Rod and Cliffy B.  However it has always been EPIC's choice to make Gears and to make it exclusive with X360.  Rod has went on file saying this and has said that they have a great partnership as well as MSFT gives them good reasons to keep working with them.  This probably includes money and a huge advertisements that competition can't give.

Now EPIC has let Judgement go to People Can Fly.  Yes it is dragging on and is one reason people arent as excited for it as previous installments but it has always been EPIC's choice.  MSFT just publishes and pays for it.  Will we see future deals with EPIC and MSFT?  Probably as they have a great partnership.  Wil it be gears?  Who knows what it will be to be honest.  We dont even know if Gears will be continueing or not past 3.  Let's wait and see because at the moment all we know they are working on is fortnite. People keep getting People Can Fly and EPIC confused with each other.  I also Want to state that Shadow Complex was very successful as well and it is only for X360.  ONce again showing there partnership at work.  I definitely dont see that as them being held back.

In August 2011 Gears 3 was already finished and prepping to go gold. They are working on next gen/PC stuff right now. Microsoft wanted more so they got their secondary team to make the game. They had long since mad the decision and Judgement was just handed to People Can Fly.

And if Epic didn't want more Gears money, they can easily just not make any more Gears games. Whether it is they themselves or their "secondary team". You understand that negotiating is a two way street, yes? Whether Epic has a contract to make such and such amount of Gears games, or they just do it a la carte, neither is something Epic is forced to do. It's funny how you will take anything and turn it into a negative towards MS.

But it's fine, feel free to quote this message when you find the quotes from people at Epic talking about how they hate working on Gears and it was holding them back from making the types of games they made anyway.

Feel no shame in a secondary team making a game, you act like its an insult. Sony Santamonica has their secondary team Ready at Dawn making their secondary titles. They did God of War and Uncharted on the PSP's.

Secondary team was your words (before you edited), not mine.
