It has begun. Articles like this will start floating around the web once the results (not favorable) are announced tomorrow. I hope the "steady stream" of games Nintendo announced actually happens and it help the sales.

I believe sales will pick up but it'll probably take at least until the fall...So prepar for a gloomy summer.

I'm ready, but I doubt Reggie's body is ready.

Casual market is oversaturated with multiple offers (PS3, Xbox,Tablets/Smartphones...), a core machine like WiiU doesnt have a place in such a casual and superficial environment...

The UK sales numbers shouldn't be used to determine the Wii U's global sales. Europe hates Nintendo.

Yup. GB is more like a colony of the USA, regarding video game console sales^^

Looks like VGC numbers are about 22% higher than these numbers show for the UK.  It's not that surprising, all Wii U games were out of the top 40 the week ending December 29th.  Despite that VGC has had NSMBU and Nintendo Land either in the top 40 or just under it in the 40-43 range.  The fact that they have failed to make an appearance in the top 40 for five weeks now suggests they are lower than that.  I suppose it is possible that they've just been incredibly unlucky and barely missed the top 40 for over a month, but it seems unlikely.

As of the week ending January 26th, the Wii U is probably under 90k.  It looks like it will be substantially slower to 100k than the Vita despite launching in the holiday season.

You do some really good numbers analysis, noticed it in the weekly threads as well man.

Thanks for doing it, it's really interesting to read.

WiiU's big titles, Durango, and PS4 will rekindle the video game world
I'll be the first to say it...Winter is coming!

From a business perspective, I hope the Wii U rockets in sales.

From a gamer perspective... I hope it stays mediocre. This may sound weird, but I feel like (first party) publishers give us way better games and better deals when their systems are struggling, and they don't try half as hard when their systems are widely successful. Look at the offerings Ninty gave us on the Wii. Then look at the N64 and GC. Now look at the amazing deals Sony is giving people on the PSV....

I don't want the Wii U to die, by any means, but if it does "okay," I'll be happy... I mean hell, we probably wouldn't be getting an HD Wind Waker remake right now if Nintendo didn't feel so pressured.

Doomed! Nintendo is doomed!

Anyways, Wii U sales will continue to be mediocre until some major software is announced. It's going to be a rough first year for Nintendo but the holidays will alleviate it.

Yeah, Nintendo really blew it this time!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.
