Forums - Gaming - Visceral doesn't want Dead Space 3 to be better on PC

I wish bethesda can learn from them. instead of giving us ports that don't work.

In that case, what's the point of even having it on the most capable device? The game was built with console in mind, sure, but it seems like they're doing a disservice to PC fans here.

Or, we could just be too entitled!

If that's the case, why does every multi-platform game looks the same on 360/PS3 when we all know the ps3 is more powerful than the 360. it seems like they're doing a disservice to ps3 fans.

1:1 port is a lot cheaper for them-thats the reason. They don't waste money on new effects, high res textures etc.

Hmph, no reason to buy it for PC now. Do they even want our money?

like i said in a another thread, deliberately no optimization for my platform means no or only a very cheap purchase from me. i mean, if they only want to invest a small amount in the pc version (i'm sure that is the reason and not "we do it for the console people") then i only invest a small amount in that version as well.

How do you know that it would be a waste?

I don't think it would be a waste but the pc version is gonna sell the least so I think thats a part of it. As long as it is as good as the console versions it shouldnt mater every game thats on pc and consoles doesn't have to be so much better looking on PC some developers may not the see the point or just don't have the time.

Eh, those two are so close in power, there's hardly a reason to push anything (the exclusives do the job there). On PC, however, to have a machine that eats them both for breakfast only to get the same game is a little perplexing.

PC games don't fly off the shelf like console games.

Look at the biggest games this gen that are on PC, they floped compared to the console versions. that's why developers don't give much attention to PC.

And it's that attitude that will cause more PC gamers not to pick it up.

To me if a PC gamer doesnt pick it up because of that and it turns out to be a great game their loss. I don't think it's realistic to expect every mulitplatform game to look significantly better on pc.

That's your opinion. One could say that because pc-gamers buy less games extra effort for porting to pc is a waste...

I didn't say they do expect every multi-plat game to look the same. There's not much you have to do to offer incentinve to pick up the PC version. If the marketing causes the gamer to lose interest, despite the critical outcome, that's not the fault of the gamer.

So, your decision about buying the game rests solely on graphical enhancement for the PC version? Do you not own a 360 or PS3 to play the game on? If it's a good game buy it, if it's not a good game graphics won't save it.

Making the PC version better won't sell more copies. It might sell more PC copies but at the expense of consoles so no net gain. They have no interest in 'saving' PC gaming and rightly so.
