I think that Nintendo should buy Platinum Games, considering their relationship. Platinum Games has been developing quite some games for Nintendo home consoles.
I would be very happy if it would happen, as I do like what I have seen from Platinum Games. I'm excited for Bayonetta 2 and MGR and even a bit excited for 101.

Platinum Games is another good example. Heck, we voted it the best dev of all time so why not!

I think the only reason Platinum exists is because Mikami, Inaba and Kamiya wanted to create an independent studio where they were able to make the kinds of games they wanted to make without their publisher breathing down their neck and telling them which games to work on.  Being acquired by Nintendo would defeat the whole purpose the studio was formed in the first place.  I think games like Bayonetta and Wonderful 101 were borne out of that sense of creative freedom where they literally had no limits on what they could make, as they were paying for it all themselves and looking for a publisher was merely a secondary concern.

You can't be serious. HVS is a garbage studio.

They are only making shovelware or overrated high budget average game (The Conduit)

If you'd read what I said, you'd understand.
HVS is "garbage" only because of their weaknesses. Those weaknesses would be addressed by having Nintendo oversee them. And if Nintendo bought them, they wouldn't be making the shovelware anymore, and they'd be able to focus everything on the real games.
Kind of like how Rare was a great studio under Nintendo's direction, but was a failure when MS acquired them. It was Nintendo's influence that made Rare so great, and in my opinion, they'd have the same impact on HVS.

yeap, the same thing happened to Retro Studios, they were garbage until Miyamoto step in and help them with the first Metroid Prime, and that was all, they become really good!!!

I think you're right.  It's true about Retro, and of course most of us remember well how quickly Rare declined once Microsoft got their hands on it.  I'd be willing to give HVS the benefit of the doubt, assuming someone like Miyamoto or Tanabe were overseeing their projects and making sure it was turning out well.  Nintendo always needs new studios.  It allows them to turn big games around more quickly and create more games simultaneously.

Monolithsoft, first party developer, Nintendo let them do what they want!!! Nintendo will never accept to release an unpolished game from any of their developers. Platinum games knows how to do games, Nintendo will just step in to approve it as quality control process and proper release date to avoind conflict with other Nintendo titles.

and yes, i want Nintendo to acquire Rare rights!!

Goo topic. Agreed with op that HVS needs guidance to teach them artistic style.

I also feel Nintendo missed the boat on some good studios this gen. Mainly factor.5 and free radicals. Both these studios had emplohees who worked on nintendo systems before. They would hae made great purchases for ni.tendo.

I prefer the relationship Nintendo has with Platinum Games as it is stands right now.  It's very mutually beneficial.  Nintendo gets these awesome, highly-anticipated action games exclusive to their system, and all they have to do is pay for the publishing.  Platinum gets to decide what to make, and only after starting work on a game do they have to worry about getting someone like Nintendo or Sega on board to publish it for them.  If Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101 sell well on Wii U, I see that kind of relationship continuing in the future, so long as both parties are satisfied.

No reason to allow your studio to be taken over or acquired by a giant publisher if you can secure mutually beneficial business deals with them as an independent studio and retain near-complete autonomy.

On a side note, I don't think it's accurate to say Monolith Soft has complete creative freedom over their projects.  It's probably true that Iwata and his people let Takahashi make the kind of games he wants to make, but on the other hand Monolith is often called upon to help other studios within Nintendo finish up projects, which takes away from development of games like Xenoblade and the new 'X'.

Nintendo tend to be strategic in who they add to their first party team, Rare are already good at western style approaches and first person while Monolith are the JRPG house of their first party which covers these 3 areas Nintendo in general don't tread on. If they were to buy a studio it would have to be one that specializes in something Nintendo don't really have covered or adds new types of traits to their diversity, imo the following would fall under this:

Platinum Games- They're not only creative and diverse but they specialize in the action genre as well a genre Nintendo doesn't really touch.

Team Ninja- People may in recent times have had a pop at them but like PG they do the action genre but they also do 3d fighters a genre that is practically elusive on Nintendo platforms in general let alone not being covered in their library.

Dimps/Arc System- Smash may be a monster of a game but it's not a traditional 2d fighter something which Dimps and arc pull off well.

What can make you think that High Voltage can be a success under Nintendo? I do not see any basis in quality from this studio. It is like picking a random bad-average studio and saying that Nintendo can turn them into gold.

HVS has not shown any potential in anything so far except at hyping average games. I still fail to see why Nintendo should buy THIS studio from all the others available options. it would be cheap, though.

They wont.  It's already been stated that they are already in a position where they are unable to manage the huge amount of software they have in development.  They have the money, they just do not have the management system to do it.
