Still doesn't make sense why they would sacrifice some 200k potential sales for the few copies shipped to gain some "collector's value".

At least I know I'll never part with my copy. (Been thinking of donating 1 copy to my local library if I ever find another one, they have the last story constantly rented, I want more people to play Xenoblade.)

No it doesn't, but Reggie hates JRPG's. He was pushed into localizing XenoBlade because of GameStop/EB Games.

If I knew it would be discontinued I'd have bought 10-20 copies new and held onto them. If they are selling for $120 new, that's a $70 profit each, which is a $700-$1,400 now if I sold them all, and even more if I wait.

I know if Nintendo localizes any more Popular JRPG's, I'm going to keep an eye on stock. If they are discontinued, I'll stock up.

I pretty sure he said that he loved Golden Sun.

He also likes Paper Mario, but anything developed by a studio that isn't Nintendo, Reggie hates, and blocks from entering North America. Even if it's wholely owned by Nintendo (Monolith - XenoBlade/Soma Bringer), or Nintendo has the rights to the game because it published it in Japan (MistWalker - The Last Story/ASH).

Question is why did he block Fire Emblem: Hero's of Light and Shadow and Earthbound 2?

If I were CEO I'd see anything well recieved in Japan get localized here, and push for a release within 6 months of the Japanese game.

I don't want to wait a year for "X". I really don't.

I think the fans/reviews/sales have made it clear that XenoBlade is an excellent, well franchise now, and I don't think Nintendo wants any bad media with major franchises not being localized. While the game might take up to a year to be localized like most of Nintendo's JRPG's (with the exclusion on Paper Mario and the upcoming Pokemon), at least this time we will know it's comming, instead of just hoping and praying.

BTW if GameStop randomly takes in another shipment of this game, the online price might crash. A while back Radiant Historia's price went up to $70 used and $120 new, so I bought about 5 copies at various EB's for $35 new. Then the game crashed because GameStop/EB Games/ a few Ebay store got shipments of the game. So I ordered 15 more copies. The game is up again, only at about $30 used and $70 new. However the price is slowly going up, so I still made a good investment here.

I was going to make a larger XenoBlade investment, but it got discontinued so fast. Shows me to wait for a $10 price cut....

Geez, how much did you make by reselling those games so far?

Those poor people.....

EDIT:On a positive note, my library had both a copy of historia AND TWENY so I didn't need to pay too much to try those lol. I'll buy the sequels to support.

I actually only started "investing" in new games recently. I've only sold some old PS2/360 games online which Gamestop would only give me $1-$5 for, so I can't really confirm making a profit.

I can see the trends though, new copies of any good SNES game go for around $500 or more now, and if I sold my N64/Gamecube collections, I'm pretty sure I would have made a profit (Kept all my boxes). This is better then any GIC, so why not get extras of great and rare games?

However not all games jump in price. I bought about 5 copies of Vanquish for PS3/360, and I don't expect to make much of a profit off that in the future. Most 360/PS3 JRPG's sell for very little now too, it's only the rare Wii/DS/PSP games which are worth anything. Next Gen, I don't see as many games becoming rare like they did this gen, but usually Nintendo RPG's hold their value.

Been a while since last update.

The price of Xenoblade seems to have stabilized, at a $99.99 price for used and a $179.99 for new. (Amazon)

Meanwhile, Metroid Prime Trilogy has a used price from $88.99 and new price of $169.99 (Amazon)

It is now currently the most expensive game on the Wii.

These prices may change over time, with a rumored HD rerelease for Xenoblade and the advent of "X".

I wish I had us version, I'd sell it.

it'll be great if xenoblade does come for Wii U in HD.

All this wouldn't be happening if Nintendo Wii games wouldn't be region locked. 30 Euro for a new copy of the game around here.
