Nintendo ain't gonna put Wii games on VC. Not until WiiU's successor.

I mean in general, for upcoming games.

Alright then.

Isn't it possible that nintendo will put out games from the wii too? At least the ones like xenoblade and metroid prime trilogy.

Unlikely, we didn't see GC games on Wii VC, only N64 games. They wouldn't make the WiiU backward compatible if they were going to have it available as DLs.

Also releasing those games on VC might piss off some of the collectors who will see a sharp drop in the value of their game.

Yeah, I know that, but wasn't that because of the wii's infrastructure?

Tha's because GC were impossible to put on VC because of the file size limitations.   40 MB versus 1.5 GB.  Storage was another problem.   Each game had be able to load in the Wii's 512 MB internal flash memory.  Meaning that practically no GC game could even fit.

Wii U doesn't have a file size limitation and doesn't have to worry about an internal flash memory launching point.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

If Americans really want to play the game, why not just import from the UK?

£50 is around $70 so it's a huge saving, and that's new!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

NoA is stupid on both of these games. I don't understand the concept of limited release. Should have pushed out batches as it continued to sell... at least with the new eShop, this is likely to not be an issue. A game could always be continued at 'normal' price digitally.

Looks like I''ll be right soon. Still on a steady increase in price.

I really wonder what will happen to the price after "X" comes out...mangggggg

I'm never selling Xenoblade.
Never letting anyone borrow it, either. I've learned my lesson after what happend to The Thousand-Year Door. And The World Ends With You. And Golden Sun: The Lost Age. And Final Fantasy III DS. And Pikmin 2. And Wind Waker...

...did you keep a list of them? Or did they break?

A mental list of games I've loaned out and have never seen again. I might actually be able to get most of them back if I yell at certain people hard enough.

At least here in Brazil, the game is still quite cheap, considering the prices of games here. The Special Edition, used, costs R$ 299 here, which would be around $150, and the normal edition around R$120 ($60), sealed. However, considering that new games cost around R$ 169 ($85), it's a fair price. Actually, thanks to what you said here, i'm going to buy it right before the sellers discover that this game is rare on USA and make the price go through the roof.

I think a new shipment just came to Europe. several stores has it at only 20€, so I'll be picking it up today :)

And yet NA still has people looking for it....why Nintendo why?

NoA discontinued the game early, it was discontinued before it's fist holiday season.

I think that took a lot of us by surprise, the game could have sold 200k better if it wasn't discontinued. I think, just like for Metroid Prime Trilogy, Nintendo wanted to keep volume low, to keep the old school hype high. I mean how many people know about Earthbound, only because it's a $300 game?

Still doesn't make sense why they would sacrifice some 200k potential sales for the few copies shipped to gain some "collector's value".

At least I know I'll never part with my copy. (Been thinking of donating 1 copy to my local library if I ever find another one, they have the last story constantly rented, I want more people to play Xenoblade.)

No it doesn't, but Reggie hates JRPG's. He was pushed into localizing XenoBlade because of GameStop/EB Games.

If I knew it would be discontinued I'd have bought 10-20 copies new and held onto them. If they are selling for $120 new, that's a $70 profit each, which is a $700-$1,400 now if I sold them all, and even more if I wait.

I know if Nintendo localizes any more Popular JRPG's, I'm going to keep an eye on stock. If they are discontinued, I'll stock up.

I pretty sure he said that he loved Golden Sun.
