Nintendo ain't gonna put Wii games on VC. Not until WiiU's successor.

I mean in general, for upcoming games.

That's actually really smart. Expect the prices to go up higher after X is released.

NoA discontinued the game early, it was discontinued before it's fist holiday season.
I think that took a lot of us by surprise, the game could have sold 200k better if it wasn't discontinued. I think, just like for Metroid Prime Trilogy, Nintendo wanted to keep volume low, to keep the old school hype high. I mean how many people know about Earthbound, only because it's a $300 game?

Still doesn't make sense why they would sacrifice some 200k potential sales for the few copies shipped to gain some "collector's value".
At least I know I'll never part with my copy. (Been thinking of donating 1 copy to my local library if I ever find another one, they have the last story constantly rented, I want more people to play Xenoblade.)

Unlikely, we didn't see GC games on Wii VC, only N64 games. They wouldn't make the WiiU backward compatible if they were going to have it available as DLs.
Also releasing those games on VC might piss off some of the collectors who will see a sharp drop in the value of their game.

No it doesn't, but Reggie hates JRPG's. He was pushed into localizing XenoBlade because of GameStop/EB Games.
If I knew it would be discontinued I'd have bought 10-20 copies new and held onto them. If they are selling for $120 new, that's a $70 profit each, which is a $700-$1,400 now if I sold them all, and even more if I wait.
I know if Nintendo localizes any more Popular JRPG's, I'm going to keep an eye on stock. If they are discontinued, I'll stock up.
