Why is the poll so lopsided? Of course they should be considered American. They live in America (USA to be exact) and they work in America. It's kind of ridiculous that some people (including these Evangelical Christians) see them/selves as not being American.

They didn't say they don't consider themselves to be Americans, just that they identify with their faith first.

"Christians who identified themselves primarily on their fiath, rather than their country: 70% vs. 22%."

I see that I skipped an important part in that sentence. Sorry!

Maybe that's it?  It's a parody thread about that new Arizona law?  What with having to swear an oath to the Government to graduate, and some people argueing that means Atheists can't graduate highschool because it involes the words "so help me god"?

Is that the one where you have to swear to defend the country like you're joining the military? That shit is insane.

Yep, they add "so help me god" at the end, which is at least what everybody I know has been focusing on, (and what i read) because it means atheists won't be able to graduate, or will be forced to say so help me god.

Why the whole military type pledge isn't more focused on... i don't know.

(Apparently it will be ammended for atheists though, much like how they are sworn in at court.)

The sheer stupidity of people can be seen more clearly once the veil of anonymity is bestowed on them.

Nevermind, I didn't even bother reading the poll just skipped to OP. My stupidity  here...

Who are you referring to here? The Evangelical Christians?

I still want to know who you were talking about.

Hey Pie, don't mind my post, I just skipped the poll and assumed the majority voted 'No". I didn't realize the poll options were rigged .

I reckon that's because it sounded sufficiently fascist for their liking.

Well, I edited my post.

Thanks for giving me an answer!

How did I miss this thread earlier? You're forgiven. Whoever you are!

I don't like evangelical Christians.  USA should start taxing churches.
