Forums - Sony - Digital Foundry - GoW Ascension "Best looking PS3 game"

i havent got GOW3 anymore but i recall the kratos char model it was simply stunning, i mean you could sometimes get kratos to look at camera zoomed up close and the detail and his movement was unlike anything else this gen, in fact if that was shown on next gen consoles it would be considered impressive.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

People complaining about the camera: http://forum.beyond3d.com/showthread.php?t=56605.
"FYI, the camera is NOT fixed. It is highly scripted to provide a highly cinematic play experience, yes, but in no meaning of the word is the camera fixed! Within the setup cinematic parameters there is a LOT of room for the camera to adjust (zooming, panning, etc) to the action that happens on the screen (where the player is, where the enemies are, etc). Because of the amount of adjustments the camera system can make automatically, there are very few assumptions that can be made about what to render or not render."
And as far as static vs user controlled camera's go, there's a reason why you want a static camera in an action game, it's to give you the best view to keep enemies in sight.

No surprise.

Edit - Why people are talking about Halo 4? pointless.

Still the best IP on PS imo.

The game is going to epic. Amazing graphics too, one of the best if no the best. MP also looks crazy good.

We disagree!

That whole game is basically interactive cutscenes and motion capture. Not really a fair comparison...not saying it's not impressive or anything, but it's not quite on ND's level

That's like saying it's not fair to compare Uncharted to Skyrim because the latter is open world. Games are judged by the sum of their parts, not how much stuff is/isn't taxing on the engine (which 3EYOND is doing more than you think).

And you're actually wrong about the game-play, since it will have plenty of player controlled interactions. But then, as I tell people, little research does nothing for a good argument.

But it's not fair to compare Uncharted to Skyrim...

Well sure it is, it just doesnt make sense entirely. This doesnt stop us and the critics though from making comparisons.

If you sit down and take a look at one area of Uncharted, then the same for Skyrim, you're going to see that UC is more detailed.

THEN if you you want, you can go into why that is in which you can mention stuff like how a linear game is easier to polish whereas an open world game has that scope etc

But regardless of that: It still doesnt change the previous statement of UC being more detailed.

(Thats not to say UC doesnt do impressive shit too), but I am merely saying that if you sat and looked at both games without having a clue regarding what type of game it is, it'd be a no brainer to which game is more striking.

If Beyond ends up looking better which is possible, the "type" of game it is could help but ultimately that doesnt matter, atleast to me.

If the game itself is what I expect it to be, then I will judge the game based on that and its visuals will be compared to the top regardless of what approach the game itself has.

If a game looks better, it simply looks better. Period.

And GoW3 was awarded the best looking game of 2010 by the majority of critics when it went against Heavy Rain among others. So yeah, Beyond VS GoW Ascension is a rematch XD

I don't think you'd like your crap to be dug up. Just don't derail the topic any further and spare yourself.

get little tire of you being hostile to me
