Forums - Nintendo - Vigil games sends a message to Nintendo.

I don't think Nintendo actually needs the Darksiders franchise, or Vigil Games, in their first-party portfolio.

But I do think Nintendo would be smart to try to help Vigil Games to find a buyer. If they did this, they'd win a lot of support from within Vigil Games, and future games from the company would likely head to Nintendo platforms. They could even offer some sort of exclusivity deal where Nintendo pays some money towards the purchase of the studio and IP, and Nintendo then gets a certain number of exclusive games from them (perhaps with the offer to also fund development of a new IP, so long as Nintendo is part-owner of the IP). They could even offer to give Vigil the chance to also work on a Nintendo IP. Not Zelda (really don't want that going outside the company), but perhaps Kid Icarus or Metroid, or maybe Battalion Wars, or even offer them the Disaster franchise to remake in their own way (to make it actually good).

Nintendo needs to grow their industry support. This is something they could do to achieve this. Buying Vigil, however, wouldn't, in my opinion.

it would be better suited with sony, not only does sony have the experience making these types of games, sony gives their devs more freedom to create the types of games they want

That's a double-edged sword, of course.

But I agree Sony would benefit more from it. Darksiders could be Sony's answer to The Legend of Zelda.

not really, considering two of the most hyped games this year are The last of us and beyond two souls and those are the two biggest example of when sony gave their devs the freedom to create the game they wanted.

I'm pretty sure God of War: Ascension (Sony) and Grand Theft Auto: 5 (Rockstar) have bigger hype.

i said two of the most hyped, not the most hyped and i would say the last of us is more hyped than GoW

Nah many of my friends don't even know about TLOU but are pumped up for GOWA. And anyways GOW is a well-established franchise and every main game in the series has sold over 4 million units.

Got no answer to that?

sorry if i seemed like i ignored you but a lot of people were replying to me and i just didnt notice your reply. and i dont want it to sound rude but what your friends are hyped for really doesnt matter, because after all you guys are just a few a people. for example the people i know are way more hyped for TLoU but that doesnt really matter as we are just a few people. what we can really use to indicate hype is new websites, forums and general reception on the interent as there we are dealing with hunders of thousands of people, not just a small group

There are no company of this size that "helps" others without getting a clear contractual advantage.

well Nintendo needs more ips so this would work well I think.

Virgil may not be the perfect developer but look what Nintendo did to Rare and Retro under their guidance.

I think Vigil have the raw talent to be tuned into a beast publisher under Nintendo.

Hence why I suggested an exclusivity deal.

The other form of "help", in the form of simply advocating for them, wouldn't really cost Nintendo anything substantial, but would help to create a stronger relationship between Vigil and Nintendo.

Would be a good idea not that i really care, but if it happens we can expect fans to be f*cking pissed to hear Darksiders 3 will be a WiiU exclusive. Bayonetta 2 all over again.

I don't think Sony or Nintendo will get them.

Yeah but than again not many people are talking about GTA V but are still pumped up for it. Same with GOWA. Also, TLOU is a new IP from Naughty Dog, which is why its getting talked about.

They said they made it when the Wii U port was about to launch, i hope someone, no matter who, buys this IP because there's so much that could be made from it.
