Forums - Gaming - ‘Burnout Paradise 2′ teased by developer

StickSkills

Alex Ward, a leading man at Burnout creator Criterion Games, has hinted at the possibility of a second Burnout Paradise through his personal Twitter account.

The original open-world racing game, which released on consoles and PC in 2008, was a smashing success, as well as one of the first titles to get extensive post-release support via DLC. Criterion has mostly been working with the Need for Speed franchise since Paradise, but according to a recent post by Ward, that may change soon.

Since he’s still asking questions like this, it’s doubtful that the game is very far in development. If anything, it’s still in an early planning stage.

Yes Yes Yes.

Oh yea make it more like Takedown. Better menu's to access the races and events.

OMG yes please. It was one of my first games this gen.

Yay!!!

I want it to be open world when i am just cruising but closed track with few alternate paths when racing.

Yeah I loved the gameplay, but the open world prevented players from coming into much contact, which defeats my favorite aspect of the Burnout series.

Moar Guns of Roses!!!

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

People are late to the party. The Burnout people already did a lot on facebook, asking for what fans loved the most, etc.
Twitter is just the next step then.

YES!

Personally, I have only played Paradise and I really really liked that. They kind of tried to make a sequel out of that with Most Wanted, but I definitely haven't fallen for that in the same way, maybe it the Vita or maybe it is the lack of friends playing the game, but there was definitely not the same magic. I think the best route would be to return to more of the traditional Burnout and keep NFS as the proper open world playground.

The thing is, they could make exactly the same game, but stick the NFS logo on one and it would sell double, in spite of Black Box's issues so I am not so sure we will be getting more Burnout

I just want more of the same! :D

I can't believe they never made a second burnout this gen, I loved the first one when it came out, and was only a couple trophies away from the platinum :(

I really enjoyed Burnout and I usually don't like racing games so good news :D
