Forums - Sony - The PS4 will launch this year with a AAA line-up

We think that the PS4 will be announced and launched this year with a good range of first party launch titles, it’s not a matter of what’s being said but rather what isn’t. Sony’s next move seems a bit too secretive and this makes us suspicious.

After a year that mostly concentrated on Vita games, you’d think that Sony will be making a bit of a song and dance of what is in store for the PS3. Even Sony’s major developers should have had their next projects out in the open but there is very little evidence of what they are working on. All this points to an imminent PS4 reveal and release with Sony’s best developer backing it from the get go.

Naughty Dog

Let’s Start with Naughty Dog. We now know that they built up a new team to create The Last of Us but what are the Uncharted team now working on? Uncharted 2 was revealed in December 2008 and released in 2009, Uncharted 3 was revealed in December 2010 and released in 2011. Now we are in 2013 and a whole year without a new Naughty Dog announcement or game (Uncharted on Vita developed by another studio), surely Naughty Dogs uncharted team are keeping something from us for a PS4 reveal.

Polophony Digital

Despite popular belief, Polophony Digital does not go 2 years without a release:

  • Gran Turismo 2, 1999
  • Gran Turismo 3, 2001
  • Gran Turismo 4: Prologue, 2003
  • Gran Turismo 4, 2004
  • Tourist Trophy, 2006
  • Gran Turismo HD, 2006
  • Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, 2007
  • Gran Turismo PSP, 2009
  • Gran Turismo 5, 2010

With their next release due 2012 and no announcements again points a finger at PS4 surprise reveal and launch this year.

What makes people so sure Naughty Dogs main team will have a game out every 2 years? I see it everywhere, maybe if it was U4 but a new generation may require more.

launch lineup, gravity rush, P4G, Resistance (not good but still trumped up), LBP, AC:L, and COD vs. PSallstars, Twisted Metal, and LBP Karting.  So yes they have been conentrating on Vita this year.

If there`s a AAA line-up i see it being more geared towards 3rd party games. I say this because i think Sony will want to give them time to stand out and to give studios to have time to learn how to work with PS4.
A new COD, a new Fifa and BF 4 are pretty much a given and that alone is already better than what PS3 had to offer at launch.
In terms of ports and exclusives i don`t think PS4 will lose to Xbox 720 - if released at the same time.

If there`s a new Resistance title it has to be at launch to help relaunch the franchise.
Maybe a new Ratchet aswell.

I think that even if there aren`t AAA 1st party games, it would be wise to have original games along ports. And if possible try to release the machine before the big games are released!

One good thing about the length of this generation is that it hopefully allowed developers a longer time to prepare for the new round of consoles so we might hopefully see a large amount of big titles coming at launch or soon thereafter.

Oh my, you've been living under a rock.

I'm sorry. I guess my mortal senses don't pick up on INVISIBLE ADVERTISEMENTS. Either that, or they did a lot more advertising in Australia than they did here.

Any gran turismo close to launch of PS4 would be amazing
