I need to say, these are the best graphics nintendo's ever produced. Easily.

Xbox 720and PS4 being more powerful is pretty much a given. A little more or a lot more is what remains to be seen.
Don`t know if devices like the ones you mentioned will make an impact. So far, there are no prices and to be honest, Ouya is pretty much a smartphone. Doesn`t seem to offer anything new and Shield is just... well, it seems a bit "confusing", to say the least.
The one that can make a difference is Steambox, but even then, Steam never stopped consoles from succeeding.
Overall, i hope they aren`t that powerfull, because we aren`t in times where paying 400 or more for consoles is still a good business practice for us and for the companies.

Its the best looking open world game I've ever seen. Since no game on the current gen came close to this scale with this level of detail it really can only be considered next gen.
Games are fun.
Hmm.. Who else thinks this is better graphics than most everything available for a console atm?

As far as Mistwalker goes, they are working on 3 iphone games and:
"
In a recent interview with Game Zone, The Last Story’s lead game designer, Takuya Matsumoto, shared a bit more about what Mistwalker would like to do, when asked about the possibility of more action-RPGs from the studio.
“The development team and Sakaguchi-san are looking forward to making more, especially for the Wii U because it has another [screen] right in front of you that will add another level of strategic elements into the action-RPG,” Matsumoto stated. “So we are really looking forward to it, but we haven’t really planned anything.”
"
That was from last June. I'm sure Mistwalker's Wii U project is probably underway, likely published by Nintendo.

And probably easily the best console graphics til now. Fanboys are blind for this type of effects but the lighting, drawdistance, details on the monsters and animation, the waterfall at the beginning are superior effects compared to PS360 games. Also that HUGE scale and the detail of the world doesn't need rendering. Uncharted 3 may have better graphics/textures because it's a small game but overall this game delivers better. This is the beginning of next gen.
quoting doesn't work too well for me, but somebody said that Skyrim looks better than this... maybe with the mods but not the game by itself. Besides that no enemy on Skyrim come close to the size of the beasts seen here. Skyrim was designed with last gen consoles in mind and it shows. I've seen the game running at Max settings and its nothing special
Games are fun.

Hmm, watching this trailer again, it looks like there's another player fighting in the distance at about 0:30. It's around the point where the giant dino-thingie swings it's tail. I guess this is yet more proof that the game will have online, or at least support a second player via U-pad.
Also, day, night, and dawn/dusk are all clearly seen in the trailer, but in the clip at around 0:47 is seems to be raining. I have yet to play Xenoblade, but it didn't have dynamic weather patterns, did it? Could this be another new addition?
Lastly, from how frequently the player changed weapons in this trailer, and the number of different firearms he used, it seems that swapping weapons on the fly may play a vital role in this game's combat, which makes me wonder if it'll be U-Pad only, or if you'll be able to assign equips to various buttons on the controller.
