Funny thing is, I went to sleep last night with the prospects of the Nintendo Direct on my mind and had a dream about some kind of Zelda announcement; then today we're hit with this!
Couldn't be happier.
So I am hoping that if they are going to revamp Wind Waker to HD...
The new Zelda will look NOTHING like it.

Someone hold me. I was expecting Wind Waker to launch on VC later this year, not a full remake.
:O
BTW, english is not my first language, so if anyone can confirm me but I remember during the ND Iwata or Aonuma said these are the kind of graphics perfect for newbies in the franchise. Zelda U to be similar?

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor
Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Aonuma was saying that they were experimenting with the HD visuals and their experiments for U Zelda turned into the WW remake, so it's very well possible that Zelda U may turn out to be, stylistically, something like WW, SS or TP, anything is possible. :( I wanted the U demo visuals personally.
But the most important part is that U is returning to the roots, letting players choose what dungeons to explore in the order they want, so it seems to be breaking away from its adopted linearity model.

If I had to guess Nintendo is going to satisfy both fans, the ones that like the cell shaded graphics will get the Zelda remake and the others will get a more 'realistic' art style. That's just my guess though.
What Aonuma said is that they came up with the graphics because they were experimenting with the hardware and they thought a HD cell shaded game will look great and they decided to use WW as a starting point.
Nintendo and PC gamer

I'm worried that Nintendo mentioned changing the "Playing by yourself" part. I don't want Multi-Player on my Zelda. I don't like people! (Just kidding of course...)
The HD Wind Waker will be a game I buy once I get the Wii U for sure. I loved it when I was a kid. (First Zelda game!)
Thanks guys.
I hope this remake adds the missed dungeons.
