Yeah it just for the labor need to rework the titles. Much like Sony had for the Vita in Japan you had to pay to move your disc based games to digital. Its to cover the money the company invested to make it happen. Oh here's the link to the you tube trailer of the new Monolith Game.

On a side note this was more than I was expecting. This ND is in responce to the upcoming Investor's Meeting for Q3 and to show what is in the future of the WiiU so I didn't expect anything right away. (In terms of the VC.) So we are getting something and cheap. Kind of disappointing we didn't hear about what Retro is doing but we got one of the two. They needed to save something for the next ND/E3. The VC I didn't expect until they did a major update so when they where talking about the two major updates I knew that the VC wouldn't be until then. Thankfully it was the spring on. (Which means late March early April.) Well I'm going to buy Ballon Fight. ;p

Yeah, I understand, security issues, extra work is minimal. They just do not want Wii VC to work on Wii U as it'll open doors for possible exploits, so they'r making separate Wii U VC with all functions that expected for it. Should be free.

Well XenoBlade sold more units in the west than Japan...so there's that. As for the rest of actual game footage shown...maybe only the Yoshi game.

That's what I understood. You only pay if you want to Wii U version of the VC titles you purchased for Wii.

Zelda WW will probably do quite well... and that new X-game from Monolith... Xenoblade has done far better in NA (and to some extent in EU as well) than in Japan...
