More possible reason: The financial situation of Sony.

For heaven's sake: Sony sold its Tokyo headquarter recently! This company is at the edge.

they sold it an have the money for it, but are still going to be using it for another 3 years... doesnt sound that close to the edge to me

It is when you pay rent on your HQ.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Looks like my op in this post was pretty much spot on ( http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=152494&page=1# ). Take that Sony's going bankrupt and will only release a console a little more powerful than Wii U ( ie. two PS3s taped together) folks / daydreamers.

PS4 will be Beast and for the fourth gen in a row inish up as the bestselling console in the world.

2015, if ever. I've been saying it for about a year, now. Sony just can't afford to launch. I don't care what announcements they make or what new technology they show. There won't be a PS4 for two years.

This statement ascertained by you basically goes without a base on explaning the reasons why Sony can't afford to launch. They needn't launch too. The financial state of Sony is not like they were in the PS2 heydays. But they launced Vita yet. If it had to be a six month delay, Sony would strive to release their next console. It's just as Kaz mentioned and it makes sense too. PS3 doesn't deserve a successor as much as the 360 does. It was released much later and continues to perform in the current market which is good.

It's just a guess.  Nothing wrong with that, is there?  Totally pulled out of my ass.  My ass.  When I'm proven wrong, say "I told you so".

How would it be, when I just guess that Sony would buy MS xbox brand then? Learn that baseless claims from weird guesses lead only to an embarassment. If you're okay with it, go on.

sounds good to me cause i still don't need a Next Gen PlayStation for quite sometimes yet as i still got too many games to play on PS3 and PSVita...

Fingers crossed.

If Sony is depending on out-spec'ing MS then they are the most ignorant fools in gaming history. Being the most powerful system guarantees nothing - and in fact, the most powerful system in any generation has never won.

Coming out last would only hurt them further.

I would be amazed in Sony is still that out of touch after having made that mistake twice already with PS3 & Vita.

Nope. This is just another article putting a spin on the IGN article.

He says they'll let Microsoft make the first move. The first thing you do isn't release, its announce. They'll let MS announce first.

This. Announcement and release are two different things.
