hmm... its a shame... nintendo really needs them to be semi-in stock from now on. The ideal situation would be that they're in stock enough to find one just by walking into a store, but rare enough that anyone even thinking about getting a wii would be compelled to buy it if they find one knowing they may not be so lucky next time.

both my stores in knoxville area that have it in stock are at 2 days 21 hours... Basically they updated at 4AM on wendsday. Do they still have them in stock? Idunno. And I'm not positive, but I'm willing to bet, seeing how the numbers are, a 'status' change, means it changed from 'in stock' to 'not' in stock.

Your compUSA, probibally had a Wii stolen from it. And it hasnt been pulled out of the computer, becuase the store hasnt had an inventory done since then.

Kinda like my local wal-mart, they said they have a 20gb PS3 in stock, yet they couldnt find one... ;)

Just, vanished... hmmm. still in stock, but not in the store.

genius! Have it impossible to find but at the same time easy to find! They will fly off the shelves so much no one will be able to find them =)

Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!

My Saturday itrackr update:  Still showing 5 stores with stock.  1 is the now 42 day old comp usa and 4 targets.  Each are at 5+ days old as an update so clearly they are holding stock for this sunday (as they have done in the past) or the system is totally wrong.  Assuming that the Sunday release is correct, I'll return to the same 1/17 stores that I have had for the last 42 days (comp usa has an issue, obviously).

A bigger question I have is this:  If itracker is anywhere near "real-time" with some of these stores, why not sample the data once per hour and "update it".  I.e. if Target is actually showing inventory in their system, update the "time since last update" so that the data is fresh.  I'm assuming at this point that the tool checks stock electronically for a given store and re-checks on a regular interval but does not "update" the data unless there is a change -- i.e. from stock to no-stock or vice-versa.  I don't know that I'd trust itrakr "nationwide availability" numbers until the items like the wii are more or less readily available and then the store data will be more accurate.  Catch 22, though, as why would you use itrakr when an item becomes more or less nationally available at most stores that carry the item?

The big notice here is the fact that it is hanging around 38% stores have had it.

So according to you a product becomes readily available and starts meeting demand when 2 out of every 5 stores may have had say a dozen units for sale for a while in the past 2 or 3 days?

Reality has a Nintendo bias.

Your best bet is to use that site to hopefully find out about stores near you that stock Wii's that you weren't aware existed lol. I used the site to find myself a DS. None of the 8 or so stores in my area had stock according to Itrackr. But I did notice a Target I wasn't aware even existed near me. (I now grocery shop there :D ) But anyway I called and they had a truckload of Onyx lites in. I wasn't able to go until the next day, and by then there were only 3 left but I was able to get one, and this whole time Itrackr showed them as out of stock. Itrackr is a nice tool, but nothing that should be considered anymore significant than your run of the mill anecdotal reports of what is and what isn't in stock. To satisfy your curiosity of what is in demand and what is not your better off using good ol' weekly and monthly sales data releases like always.

I think Itrakr may be having some technical issues or something -- at least in my region.  The same 5 target stores are said to have stock but the time since last update is now 7+ days old.  That update interval provides aboslutely zero value in terms of what is really in stock and most certainly means the "national availablity" percent on the main page is absolutely worthless as a measure of true wii stock.  I was in one target on Sunday afternoon that is listed to have stock and they had zero inventory.

Personally, I have problems believing iTrackr because http://wiitracker.com/ still is reporting that the Wii is sold out online; in fact its full history ( http://wiitracker.com/history.php ) demonstrates that expensive bundles are comming into stock and selling out quickly. The reason this causes doubt is that with the PS3 and XBox 360 we were seeing regular availability online well before they became available in store.

I wonder how inventory can stay stable within 1% over the course of a week. I find that level of consistency hard to believe especially after weekend sales.

It just plunged to 12%. Dont take this site to seriously, its just a tool to help you try and find one.
