Capcom ought to milk their franchises however they see fit. But I just find the rumor that Capcom would intentionally holdback MH4 for Vita to make no sense. Vita simply doesnt have enough installed base in Japan for this decision to warrant much thought. MH is big in Japan...not much anywhere else.

MH4 is not going to have any sort of news because Capcom is trying to cash in on the upcoming 3DS and Wii U release of 3G.

Looks like Monster Hunter 4 is staying a 3DS exclusive.

All these people hoping for a Vita version are just going to have to get a 3DS for it! I can't wait for this game...

Most likely it will get on vita in 2014 because third party exclusives tend to last 1 year.

Changed the tittle to avoid this confusion. It's exclusive on the 3DS in terms of handhelds, so if this is true we could see a PS4 Monster Hunter game for example. Although I'm not sure if the iOS qualifies as a handheld device.

Monster Hunter 3 Portable HD was released last year on PS3 and Vita... around the time Monster Hunter 4 was announced (Vita version released after the announcement). On top of that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is on the Wii U. What kind of exclusive contract did they make that makes it not exclusive to the 3DS?

Ahh. Thanks for clearing that up.

I have to wonder how sony let go of the thing that kept their handheld afloat. Would they not have known nintendo would jump on monster hunter? The only reason it wasn't on ds was because it couldn't handle it so I'm surprised sony let it slide.

And it gets worse because now they obviously have a contract on dragon quest. Oh yeah and their own pokemon.



One more thing to complete my year = senran kagura localization =D

Which still didn't answer my question, Monster Hunter 3 Portable is handheld and released on Vita AFTER Monster Hunter 4 was announced.  I don't doubt Monster Hunter "exclusivity", but there's probably a lot of mistranslations going on when this person released this rumour.  Maybe it was exclusive just for Monster Hunter 4 which would make sense since Monster Hunter 4 technically isn't the portable series.
