Nah. For me it's Vita or forget about it. The only 3DS game I'm interested in is RE:R, but it's gonna be released on PS3 soon, maybe even on Vita as well, so if they stick to 3DS, they can forget about my money. I can't see any reason to get a 3DS right now.


That's fine, but the same can be said about the Vita for me! I've been blessed with a great career  and get paid great money but still can't justify purchasing a Vita. Oh well! Happy gaming either way...

Simultaneous release is out. Unless the minimum is one month from now, which I wouldn't have a hard time believing.

Edit: Guess the minimum is actually three years. Never mind...

The original source doesn't say 3 year maximum, it just says 3 years.

And these contracts pretty much always refer to the point of launch date.

^Continuing with linguistic issues, actually it says _at the very least_ 3 years :) So it could be more, who knows. Anyway 3 years = eternity, not much sense in porting it to PSV after such long wait.

I do hope this game sell a lot on the 3DS, otherwise I won't be able to stay in gaming forums with all the ranting and the port begging.

MH 4 is confirmed for 3DS, not anything else, not Wii U.  Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is just expanding off of Monster Hunter Tri, which was already a Wii title.  Wii U is not getting a MH main series during its lunch, had the Japan Wii U bundle been Monster Hunter 4 instead of Ultimate(tri), I dont think you would have seen such low numbers.

Anyway, MH4 is the MAIN series and the big deal. I have nothing against Vita as in wanting it to fail or not getting food games.  And I sympathize with Vita owners wanting to see MH4 coming to Vita.  But there is just a total lack of understanding of the series, or of game development in general.  How much of a face slap would it be for Capcom to delay its flagship franchise for Nintendo's flagship handheld so the 1 million Vita players gets to play MH4 at the same time as the 10 million 3DS buyer base?  And who would sign a 3 year timed exclusive with the time starting 3 years before it comes out?

Yes but PSV got any Monster Hunter even not a main game in the serie could help psvita and Monster Hunter series had a great legs so it`s noot that important the installed base.


Oh yeah MH is big in Japan, any would help.  And Sony ought to try to get it.  I'm just saying it makes no sense for Capcom to holdback a major release for a small install base.  If it makes sense for Capcom to do that, then any 3rd party multiplatforms ought to wait so they could include Wii U on their release.  Any chance of that happening? Nil.  Makes no business sense at all.

I'm extremely skeptical.  Capcom's own web page (http://www.capcom.co.jp/monsterhunter/P3rd/) mentions only PS3 and PSP.

Are you sure you're not thinking of the old MHP3rd for PSP which runs on Vita (and takes advantage of dual sticks)?

Whatever it was.  It has an actual Vita case, I saw it at the import store.

The point is that if it's just the old MHP3 (which was announced at the original Vita conference, I believe) then it predates the announcement of MH3G and MH4 for 3DS in Sept 2011, so I don't see how it is relevant to the discussion.

So the Vita 2 could end up getting a Monster Hunter 4 port. Now it's up to you, Sony!
