Forums - Nintendo - The real reason why Nintendo is ..."Silent"...and they have not made a successful console "purposefully" since the SNES

Should Nintendo just stick with Handhelds after this? They will be as powerful as consoles anyways next gen.

That is because you may have never played any console before that Ninpie.

Actually, I did. I think you're just jealous that everyone else loves the console except you.

It's kind of like how a Kindergartener will get jealous that other people are enjoying things and then that kid screws it up for everyone else.

How about ten great games on Wii?

Zelda:Twilight Princess
Super Mario Galaxy
Metroid Prime 3
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Super Smash Bros Brawl
Mario Kart Wii
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Zelda: Skyward Sword
Xenoblade
New Super Mario Bros Wii
The Last Story

and that's just 1st party.

Nintendo hasn't messed up anything. They are surviving like any major company does, its just that during the SNES era they had a vice-like grip on third party support and Sega was the secondary console. Sony took all of that away from them and making it doubly hard for Nintendo to come back into the good graces of third parties. Nintendo is trying to stay relevant in their own way since they know the bias has been built by western third parties. They are going to need exclusives, plain and simple.

Gamecube was da best <3

Besides maybe 5 games you could buy the rest on the PS2, which funny enough went on to almost outsell the DS. So PS2 equals Great console, and GC equals...........................

The Gamecube has Super Mario Sunshine, best Animal Crossing and FZero. The DS didn't outsell PS2 btw.

I dont know, i kinda like my wii u.....

Jackass is a movie.

Mario was subpar compared to almost every mario ever made, besides the Wii update Mario Mix or whatever it was called. Everyone says Wind Waker was...where were the sales! Star Fox Adventures barely was made, and was actually Dinosaur planet. Your first two titles were ports and remakes?

And no, I do not think you have made one good point. They are not being silent for any reasons that you have mentioned. I expected so much more with the Wii U, and they just did not deliver yet again. Most people are saying...do you know what most people are saying? The same thing D21 eventually said about the 3DS after he gave it the win in his 3DS vs Vita thread. They are saying, "Where are the games" The same God Da***** thing that we always say. Where are they at? Why!!!

On what planet was most of those launch games good ideas for the Wii U?

I know what Star Fox Adventures was, I was there when they showed us Dino planet on the N64. You're not teaching me anything man.

Wind Waker had low sales because the cube didn't please the mainstream, so despite its uncontestable quality, Wind Waker sold little (relatively speaking). The first title was an excellent remake that required a lot of effort. The graphics were completely redone and I believe the music was too, and there were additions to the gameplay if I'm not mistaken. RE4 was not a port, it was a timed exclusive to the cube.

How do you know why they were silent? You're not explaining why they're silent, you're just complaining that your U doesn't have games. Well you know what Spurgey, boo hoo, it's tough luck to you for buying a console that doesn't have the games you want. Had you waited a little the price would have gone down and you would have had the games you wanted.

The launch games for WiiU are enough for the market that desires them. Until the launch of the PS720, Nintendo has the luxury of taking their jolly time. The Vita didn't have that luxury, sadly.

That's not really a great idea. They should want to capitalize on their head start and release more games so they have a bigger base market before the NexBox and PS4 (or whatever it's going to be called) release.

But I get where you were trying to go with this, overall.

Yeah, like I said in the other thread, it worked for the 360, it worked for the PS2, so it's no grave danger for the U imho. Yes 3rd parties may have their confidence shattered, but they are finnicky anyways when it comes to Nintendo.

@ happydolphin

I don't know why they are being silent but they are. Spurgeonryan claims they aren't saying anything because they have nothing but I can prove that wrong.

Reggie said they haven't announced every game out between now and march. Why did he say that? Because he was telling the truth.

Wii u just needs time. It saddens me that I am stood here waiting but I am almost certain my patience will be rewarded.

One more thing to complete my year = senran kagura localization =D

3rd parties have done nothing for Nintendo recently. I think, as always, Nintendo will make it on their own. (AKA, I agree with that point.)
