Grand Theft Auto 5 is the most anticipated game of 2013, according to a recent survey conducted by Voucher Codes Pro.

Though it might not come as much of a shock to see that Rockstar’s popular GTA series’ latest installment comes out on top, it does beat a list of high-profile games all vying for the top spot.

Speaking to 1,457 gamers across the UK, the money saving website discovered that along with wanting GTA 5 the most out of all of 2013’s releases, they were also looking forward to Gears Of War: Judgment the next most.

Here’s the full list of games and their anticipation ratings:

1.       Grand Theft Auto V - 72%

2.       Gears of War: Judgement - 65%

3.       Tomb  Raider - 64%

4.       The Last of Us - 57%

5.       BioShock Infinite - 49%

6.       Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 -43%

7.       Dead Space 3 - 40%

8.       Crysis 3 - 37%

9.       Beyond Two Souls - 36%

10.   Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist - 31%

Voucher Codes Pro’s George Charles was optimistic that the survey reflected overall excitement for the coming year’s sales despite the US seeing a 22% drop last year.

“The fact that people are searching for titles that haven’t been released yet just shows how hotly anticipated new games are. I’m also amongst those looking forward to a few of these releases and can’t deny that Grand Theft Auto V is a mouth-watering offering, despite its oft-cited notoriety.”

With new consoles rumoured to be announced any day now, Voucher Codes’ survey might be short-lived with gamer’s attentions shifting when Microsoft and Sony reveal the Xbox Next and the PS4.

wow!!! talk about close percentage. either of them could have been first.

Internet would have you believe Last of Us is more desired then Gears. lol guess not.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

It's my most anticipated game.

Gears Of War: Judgment in the 2-spot makes me question the accuracy of this survey somewhat. I doubt sales will follow this very closely.

In fact, a quick glance at Amazon.uk convinces me of it.

Also, holy cats, Fifa 13 is still dominating the UK? Wow.

A quick glance at Amazon.uk would make you think Halo 4 outsold Fifa 13 last year as well.

For the person asking about only 1457 people survey. If selected randomly 1457 people it would actually be a very good a representation of the gaming population of the UK. Take any statistics class and you would understand that you don't need hundreds of thousands of people. I am assuming this survey is just guessing the most popular games in the UK, in which case the list makes perfect sense.

For the person asking about god of war. God of war is very small in Europe, and in the UK where the ps3 is the least popular it's not surprising it wouldn't appear in a top 10 list. Heavy Rain actually almost outsold God of War III in Europe. So there being more hype for beyond makes sense considering Ascention isn't even a true sequel.

Don't be stupid, God of War is very popular in Europe. And God of War III has long since sold over 2 million in Europe alone, you obviously haven't done any research otherwise you'd know how undertracked the game was proven to be. As for that ridiculous list, obviously God of War: Ascension wasn't included in the poll and there's NO WAY Gears of War: Judgment would be that high, nobody even cares for it.

There is A LOT of hype for God of War: Ascension in the UK actually, if there wasn't the Collector's Edition wouldn't be this high on the bestsellers list 2 months before the release:

People really should get their facts straight before writing shit.

You are the one calling bullshit on a survey simply because it doesn't have the game you like anywhere near it and you are the one claiming people are writing shit??? Are you kidding me... Get your facts straight and stop spewing bullshit just because your favorite series isn't on the list.

Thinking god of war 3 is undertracked by 1mil in just Europe when shipments were around 1mil over sales worldwide. I do agree it's undertracked, but the vast majority of that is in the US where NPD clearly showed it was undertracked. You need to be unbiased with your research but clearly that's impossible when you are such a huge fanboy towards the game. And after the whole uncharted 3 day one sales fiasco, any number sony lists should be considered shipments regardless of what they say unless they provide a specific tracking source.

God of War is not very big in Europe compared to its US sales. Nor was it huge in the UK. It dropped in the pal charts extremly quickly, and this was during the spring where anything under top 5 was selling very poorly.

As for my amazon speech. I meant Halo 4 was the best selling game on amazon.uk for the year 2012 when clearly both versions of fifa 13 sold way more in the UK.

Sounds about right, not sure about the rest though...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

polling < 2000 people is the best way to find out overall demand for a product...
