where would you determine the value of your games?

Look up prices on ebay.

Just tried that but cannot find any results, not sure what words to search for for a combined Mario, racing and Tetris game.

If you're serious, you'll be thousands of dollars better off if you sold that game

Why, what makes it rare, the gold casing?  LoZ NES has one too.

The gold casing!?

Uhhh, I'll buy that game off you? :)

that link is great for pricing your games, I got some nice surprises.  Windwaker, Luigi's Mansion, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat w/ bongo, Metroid Prime 2 & Eternal Darkness are all worth more then I payed & are still on trend to go higher.

Not sure how that site gets it's data but if they use Australian gamr sales on eBay then it would skew the result.

Retro games here can be quite pricy, some SNES games are around the $300 mark boxed. Mainly because they did not release many in PAL and in AUS itself.

N64 here can have insane prices as well.

Uncharted 2 Fortune Hunter's Edition. Got it for 3k when it was cheap.

Are you serious? It's a good game and all, but 3K? I have a lot of rare games, but I paid retail for them and they went up in value. Other than some of my Donkey Kong stuff I bought almost all my to play and enjoy first and collect second.

I listed some of my prized games below to illustrate what I've held onto over the years. A lot of that stuff I got during the sweet spot time when a game goes budget before people released it's collectable. I walked into a Software Etc. and bought a slightly used copy of Magic Knight Rayearth for $4.99 back when nobody wanted it. Then it became a rare collectors item that few will part with, which drives it's value up. I just thought it looked like a fun Zelda-Like game, but it turned out to be the Sega Saturn's last US published game. Look, I love my stuff and I'm sure you love yours, I'm not trying to crap on your beloved collectable. I do want to know if you still feel it was really worth that to you? I only ask, because game stuff is great and I love collecting, but it's not a practicle hobby and 3k could be like three AR-15s or a nice big HDTV, or a kick ass gaming PC, etc. I guess what I'm getting at is that if I spent 3k on a game/collectable just to sit on a shelf I'd feel guilty. Even if I had the money to spare I don't think I could justify spending 3k on a game and a knife. Although that knife is cool, I wonder if they made prop replicas of it from The Shadow?
