Do you play the game by collecting pokemon and items? Do you just have fun battling the gyms/elite 4/ champion? Like the contest/musicals/pokestudios? Do like pokemon just cuz their cute? Like spinoffs and play them because Pikachu is on the cover? Then your a Casual Gamer!

Nooo? Then do you vs online? Train Ivs, Evs and breed? Do you try to get great DW abilities? Enter Tournaments? Then you are a Competitive player!

Or maybe both 50/50?

I play it casually...and I sincerely hope this thread won't derail like all the discussions on memebase about this topic^^

I play it casually as well. While I try to build the best team possible, I never fight other people and just go through the story until I've finished it.

lol i hope not.... Me im competitive! I entered the tournys! My 1st round in 2011 I lost to the world champions friend! So close too. I hit his Escliver and it had 1hp remaining!

I play casual usually, and then all my friends go get it and we get into super competitive mode where we build teams for a week and have our weekly face-off and such. I don't do EV training as much, I tend to focus more on the team comp and moveset.

I'll always play with a team I like. Couldn't care less if its strong or not!

Also I always have a Pikachu in my team, because he's the greatest thing ever!! (Well except in Black as he wasn't in it.)

a little of both....i ev train my pokemon but i dont use rng ever and dont plan on it lol

I don't know if it happens with any of you, but after getting in the competitive play (well, casually, as I'm no pro either) i completely lost all the interest in the non-competitive playthrough. I just find it pointless knowing that my team will end up being useless in the metagame. So what i usually do is rush to the end with wtv i catch/train, and then drop everything to breed and select my EV/IVs.

So yeah, competitive is the best way to play Pokemon these days.

I'm all about competitive battle. I love raising my pokemon to be the best. And I love to prove it to others... although I lose a lot because I refuse to use certain types of pokemon... I'm WEIRED
