If anything Nintendo needs embrace the casuals, heavily. They not going to win against XB3/PS4, especially not when underpowered to them.

Who says they have to "win" against XB3/PS4?

The Wii "won"

The Wii sold more hardware, this is very different to winning.

There is more to winning than selling the most consoles...  Like making the most profit.  The Wii sold the most and made the most profit.  If that isn't winning then you must believe everyone deserves a blue ribbon for finishing the race.

Obviously, Nintendo cares if the Wii U only sells around the N64 level. If the Wii had sold just like the N64 or GameCube, I honestly don't think Nintendo would have stayed in the home console market. At that point It would have been easier and more profitable for Nintendo to simply focus all resources on their handhelds.

well the wii had plenty of games, i haven't even finished all the ones i have, somoe people are just lazy to look for them they just complain , i´ve had alot of fun with it, but the problem is people are never satisfied and always find something to bitch about , the wii u is not so hot right now (i've been playing wii games mostly)
but i'll get better at least it'll get some good games you'll see

Soundwave does not speak for the Nintendo fandom.

I, for one, am not liking the logic in this thread.

We need casuals to keep the system selling long after the core gamers all made their choices.

To throw away their support is to welcome last place.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Good games would have sold if Developers had made good third party games. I cannot even name more than three.

Developers didn't take the console seriously. The west was evident and so was Capcom. For the Wii to get multiplats they would've had to severely dumb down their games which they were not prepared to do.

hmmmm. I like the way this guy thinks. Screw casuals :P It s annoying hearing them talk about games anyways. Im sure you guys have had to sit there listening to a room of people talk about games and they dont know what they are talking about. Kind of like most people on vgchartz ;P lol I jk

I'm blaming the damn tablet. When you think tablet, you think 99 cent games, if not a bit more. When you get the Wii U and find out games go up to $40~$60, who would want to pay that to play games that involve a tablet? Only the hardcore Nintendo zombies would. Not to mention, Nintendo had the genius idea to bring a bunch of ports of SEQUELS for well established franchises on the HD Twins. Why they did that, I truly have no fucking idea. That's just my opinion but only time well tell how far did Nintendo drop the ball, assuming they don't pick up the slack.

Hell, no. I like these "casual" games significantly more than "core" games. I really, really don't want to see a Nintendo console dominated by this crap (for the sake of not being even more ironic, I'll add, "in my opinion", even though it doesn't make sense semantically). If this happens, I might have to go back to being handheld-only, which would be a little sad.
