I have a shotgun, I have a much better chance of winning and keeping my family safe.

Most gun deaths to the family are caused by the owners own gun

Source?

http://www.totalcriminaldefense.com/news/articles/criminal-evidence/gun-deaths-suicides-statistics/

That stat is misleading since it including suicides. I guess those people would not find another way to kill themselves if there was no gun available? Not likely.

EDIT: On the stat of more suicides happening in homes with guns, that's why parents need to keep their gun locked up so their kids/teens can't get to it.

1. I fail to see how CNN's audeince can be "hyper liberal" when their programming typically goes middle of the road to conservative leaning.

lol. that gave me a good laugh. at least your opening comment saved me the time of actually reading your whole post, as i knew it would be at least as ludicrous as this comment.... cnn conservative... lol. ha

that pole is obviously utter BS

As other posters have already pointed out, CNN does not poll its own audience, they use random sampling. Additionally, it has been demonstrated that CNN achieves relatively accurate poll results. Finally, LOL at the idea of such a large segment of the population (CNN's entire audience) being "hyper liberal" in a country as regressive as America.

Remember kids, neo-liberal =/= liberal.

Yeah more controls like they have in Switzerland

This is what most people have been talking about, but as soon as you mention gun controls the gun lobby (and supporters) jump down your throat ranting on

It depends on the types of controls. I'm on board with requiring more education and responsibility, but not so much on outlawing and banning things (as this can become a slippery slope).

handguns are one thing, but sale of assault rifles to the public is just wrong.

I'm sorry but using guns as population control only works to a certain degree. For instance check out the feral hog problem in some states (especially Texas). They pay people for bringing in hog ears or bodies during an open season. Guess what? Hogs reproduce so fast that trying to control them by guns, traps, etc barely puts a dent in their numbers.

Population control through guns only works on small scale (and the best example would be killing off goats on some of the Galapagos islands since they were a feral/introduced species that were out competing the tortoises).  You won't get rid of all those snakes in Florida through killing with guns.

yea, but the only options i see would be too introduce a poisen or a predator into the wild and that could very dangorous too.  But I agree you wont get rid all of them, but it can't hurt to kill some.

i know. i wasnt laughing at the poll being slanted by their  target audience (as i know it was a scientific poll) i was laughing at the claim that ccn leans consevative.

and yes, i know the difference between classical liberalism, and the term liberal hijacked by progressives. i didnt even mention the word liberal in my post.

my claim that the poll was bs, was based off the fact that the media has fear mongered so much, misrepesented, and flat out lied, that people dont even know what semi-auto, "assault weapons", or what "high capacity clips" are. nor do they know what the 2nd amendment states
