Nintendo: 366.450
Sony: 208.580
Microsoft: 99.325
Total: 674.355

Some years ago, Wii or DS could beat all nintendo hardware numbers for this week. And WII+DS could outsold all hardware numbers combined by 200k or more. Nintendo case: 1 console x 4; Overall: 2 consoles x 8 + 200k.
All consoles are doing poor, with no exception.

If these numbers are right, very well said. This is the weakest 360 week since its first year, and the PS3 ais getting close. Both will fall below 100k very shortly.

Wut. 360 has been below 100k many times before. It went below that just last year even. http://www.vgchartz.com/weekly/41168/Global/
It was hovering around 100k for the majority of the year

Hmm I thought it was 89k for whatever reason, but you're correct. Very low week and to kick off the year; not promising.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Not sure why you disagree. Last year 360 was down 29% and it had Halo.

Last year PS3 was down 20% and it had nothing.  You think it drops another 35% based on what?

PS3 had 28 exclusives in 2012. It only had "nothing" because the PS3 gamers decided to make nothing of it.

You have a list of those exclusives, so we can determine how significant they were?  The only one I can think of that would have pushed any HW was PSABR. Were most PSN titles ?

The list I had compared to Halo 4 were all retail.

Some games could have been a hit if the gamers just bought them more. Starhawk, Twisted Metal come to mind. LBP Karting and especially Battle Royale could have been elevated to something greater then what they were. Its not like Smash Brothers had a massive budget yet its a beloved franchise, same with mario kart. The games IMO were worthy, its the gamers that let them down.

Beta for PSABR turned me off. It isn't satisfying to hit something in that game. But yeh, could have been a hit.

LBP Karting, never really heard anything about it. Sounds too similar to ModNation Racers.

Twisted Metal is a franchise they tried to revive from ps1 era. Come on...no chance at success.

Games were not worthy, none of those were destined to be big sellers. PSABR maybe "somewhat successful", certainly not comparable to a Halo at all, not even comparable to an Uncharted. Sales reflect that.

Compare those games to 2013 - Ni No Kuni, The Last of Us, The Last Guardian, Beyond: Two Souls, Puppeteer, Until Dawn, Agent(?)

Then non-exclusives like GTA V, Crisis 3, Watch Dogs.

It's gonna be a huge year in comparison.

It was also Sony advertisement.  I bought Twisted Metal and PSallstars new so I did my part and spread the word of their awesomeness to many a gamer (especially Twisted Metal as I was VERY pleasently surprised by its quality after hearing it was a PSN title initially).  Sony should put Twisted Metal on PS+ for a discount or free to get the word out on it since they didn't advertise that or Starhawk at all.

They could revamp the aborted Vitality Sensor and turn it into the awesome VS+, with exclusive features like added sensors and stimulators for cybersex!

Very true! As always, sex sells!

Sony had nothing?? Weird because I recall a crappy redesign. Then a sales boost with the 12gb Ps3.

A redesign? Haha, well you're free to believe that stimulates sales (it doesn't) but without a price cut that's meaningless.

360 had a nice boost in 2010 with the same price point, that was before kinect hit in november.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I fought such a fall in sales would of came a little later. Man those sales are terrible already, except for PS3 and 3DS of course

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

When sales bottom out the PS3 rate of catching up will take as long as the late summer, MS can easily do something to hold out till November.

Is that the redesign that finally had WiFi built into each unit by chance?
