Posted my 11th pick Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Also there is good news related to this film according to Wikipedia the fifth book in the series is being made into a movie and its starts shooting in May. My next movie is a very long one it runs for 179 minutes and I still haven't seen the directors cut which runs 235 minutes on Blu-ray and 234 minutes on DVD.

I just watched it again and was writing the running times down, actually 3:33 minutes + 22 minutes of credits on blu-ray, makes 235 minutes for The two towers. I can't really choose one as my favorite, so I posted the almost 11 hour version (just over 12 including credits)

My next movie has no dialogue, yet it's not a silent movie and has plenty of people looking into the camera. It was filmed on location in over 20 different countries.

Yes that's it, I could have included all three movies in my top 50 but I just narrowed it down to one in order to have a bit more variety.

Close. The director of my next movie has very close ties to Koyaanisqatsi.
I love that one too but I'm still on the fence about the $77 asking price for the qatsi trilogy. Koyaanisqatsi got me interested in making my own timelapse videos and made me a fan of Philip glass too.

This one is from old footage where I used to live as a student, a bit more interesting as a timelapse with all the cloud formations.

Top 10!

#10

Sunset Blvd.

A brilliant film noir by legend Billy Wilder, Sunset Blvd. is a layered, complex story of human nature, Hollywood, and the demons that surround us. Wilder and Charles Brackett, who co-wrote the movie, provide a story that cuts deep into the facade of glamorous moviemaking and taps into the dark sexuality of film noir.  In a way, Sunset Blvd. is a horror movie, laying bare for all to see the greed, vanity, jealousy, and lust in all of us.

9: A Simple Plan (1998) Sam Raimi

A great psychological thriller and one of the best movies from the 90s. Great characters and an amazing plot. this movie really shows the true nature of a human being and accurately as possible predicts human behavior. Its one of a kind and could easily be a classic.

Posted my 10th pick The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers my next movie has a lot of religious undertones since the main character initials are JC and he performs miracles.

That's it I had a feeling someone would get it on the first guess.

10. Baraka, 1992, Ron Fricke

A movie without dialogue, portraying the story of life in images. Anyone who doubts the benefit of HD should watch this movie. I fully agree with this description on blu-ray.com "Each scene provides awe-inspiring, reference-quality imagery that effortlessly places the viewer within each frame of the film regardless of its locale on the world's surface. It's a teleportation device of sorts, a trip around the globe that costs only as much as your HDTV, Blu-ray player, and the disc, and it's worth infinitely more than that."

The 1992 film has been fully restored, scanned in 8K directly from the 65mm negative. A process that took 3 weeks at 12.5 sec per frame to produce over 30 terra bytes of source data. Oversampled 16:1 it delivers the best possible home video quality to date, said only to be surpassed by Ron Fricke's new film Samsara which I hope to see soon. The sound also got a special HD remix in 96khz, 24bit 5.1

All this technology does not go to waste. I was already impressed with the laserdisc version, but this version draws me in even more. The perfect movie to sit back, listen to the music and sound effects and have your mind make up the narrative. Mesmerizing is the best word to describe it.
