Zelda is the most popular after Pokemon but SSB is a game that not even Nintendo fans enjoy. But i think we all are forgeting one major one????

"Wii" as in Wii Fit, Wii Fit+, Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wii Resorts!!!

If that dont count, Maybe DK, also if MK counts on its own then its # 1 after pokemon

I would argue that Mario Kart has become bigger than Pokemon, and even Main Mario games.

Can someone explain me how is pokemon not a nintendo franchise?

There was also no Zelda in 2008, 2010, or 2012. There probably won't be one in  2013 either

I guess there's a way to look at it that sounds better than this -- there have been 3 Zelda games released in the past 3 years. 2010, 2011, 2012; Ocarina 3D, Skyward Sword, Four Swords Anniversary Edition. The fact that two of these are remakes and that all three came out in the same year are simply details. I believe there will be at least 3 more Zelda games released in the 3 years spanning 2013, 2014, 2015.

1. Wii Series (Current Gen Sales.)
2. Mario
3. Pokemon
Simple as that.

Pokemon. If Pokemon isn't a valid answer, then Mario Kart. If the Mario rule does apply, then Zelda.

It might be that simple, if Mario hadn't sold more than the Wii series this generation.

Does this include the Mario spinoffs?

Besides the holy trinity of Mario, Mario Kart and Pokemon, Zelda is probabaly the most unifying mascot under the banner.
