Ok I'm confused. What defines a PC "gen"? It's not like consoles when a new console dictates a start of a new gen. How does one define "gens" for PC?

I do think that Orange Box counts, did buy it at retail and had the best value ever

Well, for the purpose of the poll, he defined it same as console gen - with release date of 360. For real PC gens - I'm not sure that even exists, one way I guess could be transition to new fab for GPUs when most notable performance jumps are visible (like 55 to 40nm in 2009/10, or 40 to 28nm in 2012).

As soon as consoles go into next gen which would be the release of X360 in november 2005.  PC makes a jump when consoles go into the next gen because developers tend to develope for consoles.  Have you ever heard the term "Consoles are holding PCs back"  Yeah that's true.

I've only voted for games I actually have for the systems. Like Mass Effect 3. I didn't vote for it on PS3 because I only have it on 360.

I think that one is fairly new, being most PC developers sold their souls to highest bidders only in 7th console gen - Crytek being prime example, FarCry was released 2004 for PC, Crysis 2007, both pushing PCs to limits, and both totally unrelated to console cycles - and then they went the usual console road, so we got Crysis 2 :/
