Forums - Gaming - ‘Apple is done’ and Surface tablet is cool, according to teens

Lol at WiiU with 39%. Something looks very off

Nothing looks very off about that. I read that article before and it's pretty convincing.

The way I see it, why would I want a product that everyone and their mother has/wants instead of a unique phone or at least rarer. As a kid, I hated the fact I might see people with toys/gadgets that I had. I liked to feel that it was mine and only mine lol.

I think everyone still thinks Apple products are cool. I feel the article is getting way too far ahead of itself. Even my little brothers (4 and 7) know what an Ipad is despite nobody in my family owning one.

I guess it makes sense that certain people will always hate popular things (hell I do, but mostly because popular things suck...bieber.) But there will always be those who are attracted to something simply because they know it's popular and others have one.

I can maybe see it happening in the US but I don't think the rest of the world will follow that trend.
Just the other day over 2m iphone5s were sold in just three days in China

Probably be like another x360 situation where the US buys MS phones, tablets and the "rest of the world" buys Apple and Samsung. Don't know.

Looking at some of those growing economies then at the US's measly growth I know where I'd be looking to put my eggs in the future if I was either of those companies.

Yeah it adds up to like 1000% across the board, a new Nintendo console plus a smart phone plus a tablet as a kid's 3 choices, let's say isn't that statistically improbable.  Whether that ever translates into sales is another story.

Funny topic this as Microsoft will NEVER be cool. A company made up by thieves and run by monkey boy. Yeah right great OP

"...the best way to prepare [to be a programmer] is to write programs, and to study great programs that other people have written. In my case, I went to the garbage cans at the Computer Science Center and fished out listings of their operating system." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

"Hey, Steve, just because you broke into Xerox's house before I did and took the TV doesn't mean I can't go in later and take the stereo." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

Bill Gates had Mac prototypes to work from, and he was known to be obsessed with trying to make Windows as good as SAND (Steve's Amazing New Device), as a Microsoft exec named it. It was the Mac that Microsoft took for its blueprint on how to make a GUI.

""Windows [n.] - A thirty-two bit extension and GUI shell to a sixteen bit patch to an eight bit operating system originally coded for a four bit microprocessor and sold by a two-bit company that can't stand one bit of competition.""

The Windows 8 interface perfectly suits a tablet though I like on my desktop too. But I have very little faith in Microsoft about making quality hardware. I would rather see the reaction of the users of the Surface for few months and comment whether they are competitive to Apple or not.

i feel like apple has lost a step. things seems very evolutionary not revolutionary lately. pack that in with some bad choices (apple maps) and i just don't hold apple in as high regard as i used to.

best evidence i have, my wife wants to buy a new computer. she asked me to find a non-apple one because "the features just aren't worth the price" anymore. no idea what we'll end up buying, she hasn't been happy with anything so far. she hates windows 8 so my options are pretty limited.

how come i never got in any survey or knew anyone that participated in surveys XD

Buzz sounds like an ad agency, not a market research group. Why the hell would teens be excited about a product whose main selling point is Office?

You know who is a market research group? Nielsen.

http://blog.nielsen.com/nielsenwire/consumer/u-s-kids-continue-to-look-forward-to-iholiday/

Interest among 13+:

iPad - 21%
Surface - 3%

Among children 6-12:
iPad - 48%
Surface - 6%

Lol at WiiU with 39%. Something looks very off

You aren't wrong.  The whole table is a joke full of contradictions with real life sales.

Its also from November.  Kids are fickle.

It's measuring interest, so naturally people are very curious about a product as it launches and nobody actually has one.

Also, there's an obvious disconnect between interest and actual purchasing, especially for kids and teens who often ask for what they want, but end up getting something else.

But you can't seriously be suggesting that you find Buzz Marketing Group to be a more trustworthy source than Nielsen, can you?
