Forums - Nintendo - What will be WiiU's first WOW game?

I'm thinking the first real Zelda trailer will be it, but the system is begging for a good MMO (Dragon's Quest isn't going to cut it in the West.) Conventional wisdom would say that Pokemon is the best fit, or maybe something Zelda based. I'm personally holding out for a Mother MMO, because hey, if we're just going to wish might as well wish big.

I havent played a wow Nintendo game since the N64, but then again, I was a child.

I'm hoping it will be either Star Fox, the mystery Retro Studios game or the mystery Monolith Soft game.

Of course a gazillion Mario games. Its the truth.

I don't need a WOW game to buy the system, I need 3 exclusive games that I want for it, right now the count is at 1 (ZombiU) so there are at least 2 missing to make my purchase, now that can change very fast in the next months, Wonderful 101, Lego City Undercover and Pikmin 3 could complete the list.

For the masses... it will depend. The gamers will do it for a new HD zelda and the non-gamers for Mario Kart or something odd like Nintendogs for Wii U.

I said the samething about playstation.

But as I grew older I now buy Nintendo since it ties up with their philosophical approach. So I can play with grandparents, parents, girlfriend and kids. Software for all ages.

I think it will be either Mario Kart or Smash Bros for me. The thought of HD versions of those games, with more robust online, just seems too epic. Those are the big ones that I am standing by for. Once those come out, I will get a Wii U and get back on the Nintendo bandwagon

Whatever monolith and Rtro is up to...

I can agree with that logic. Nintendo will be very relevant when I have kids, kind of like how my mother got my into Nintendo because she thought Mario was cute.

Pikmin is not the type of game that will wow the masses despite the great graphics. I think Lego City has a shot if the scale, scope and story beat expectations. Rayman will sell systems but I don't see it wowing people. Aliens will inspire other devs and sell well if the hype is to be believed. More than likely it will be something that comes in Oct or Nov.

I am rooting for Lego but we won't know until we get our hands on it.

On a side note if Nintendo does not release something we don't know about in 1H 2013 they are seriously dropping the ball!
