After yesterday's announcement of Pokémon X & Y, which possibly led to worldwide hype overload and mayhem on the streets, The Pokémon Company International has issued some information on the new 'mon that made an appearance at the very end of the announcement trailer.

These are two new Legendary Pokémon: the one in the image above is called Yveltal (phonetic spelling — ee-VELL-tawl) and the creature below is called Xerneas (phonetic spelling — ZURR-nee-us).

We expect more teasing snippets of information like this in the coming months, but in the meantime you can enjoy the artwork and, if you've somehow missed it so far, watch the announcement trailer.

Hello pokemon!

Thought this was a pony thread.

Nothing wrong with a pony thread, though.  Right?

What if they're like Ho-Oh and Lugia, and one is the storyline legendary while the other is the post-E4 legendary for each version?

Given that Xerneas (name starts with an X and is blue, same as the X in the title) is associated with Pokemon X and Yveltal (name starts with Y, is red like the Y in the title) is associated with Pokemon Y, it doesn't really seem like it'll be done that way.

As long as they don't throw away their sig move (Curse you Ho-ho and your Sacred fire).

Then I say this is my favorite generation since the second one. But to become the best, like no one ever was, Pokemon Z Version must face the daunting task of topping Pokemon Crystal.
