Ryan.. Why the f are you comparing Saddam with Nelson Mandela???

It would be impossible since Saddam was a thug and criminal compared to Mandela who was just fighting for freedom!!

Saddam pulling a Mandela would be have been unlikely. To be honest with you the world is a better place now he is dead.

A key difference is that Saddam was installed as president for life then he got overthrown. Mandela had no material power and was thrown in prison for a couple of decades for trying to achieve equal rights for black (and coloured) South Africans. The only people who were sad that Saddam was overthrown are his Tikrit clan-mates. The majority Shiite population certainly were happy to see the back of him, though they probably would have preferred US funding of a insurrection rather than a US invasion and occupation; would have been cheaper than an invasion and occupation too. Of course that would have put the US and Iran on the same side in Iraq and we couldn't have that could we?

But being alive could have made him a living symbol (not mandela like but warrior style)for his tribe with a certain influence because he is accepted as strong man by his people.

That's why he was killed,that's why ghaddaffi was killed and that's why they will kill Assad as soon as syria falls and become the next cash cow for the US oil and weapon industry as it has happened with iraq and syria.(with dozens of new us military camps)

Come on,you can't destroy the holy-mandela lie with such a simple thing like the truth.

If people realize that this guy was responsible for such things like bombing,terrorism and torture camps in Angola(and he also was a communist in the 50ies-the great thing that killed 50mio russians and 70mio chinese people in the same time)they may loose their illusions.
