He kind of dodged the question, didn't he? It's not even clear whether or not the "action game" they're working on will be on Wii U. And what does "looking into" other games mean? This is a very politically correct response that provides no substantial information.

I think his response actually confirms that action game is NOT for Wii U.

I don't think it confirms anything one way or the other. It's not like he said "we're working on an action game for PS3 and 360." If he wanted to confirm that the game is not for Wii U, he would have.

the question is for Wii U

What are you working on now? Will it be on Wii U?
Hayashi: We are working on an action game, and we are looking into other titles for Wii U.

The word "other" is not exclusive.

I am going to eat this pizza, and I am thinking about eating other things.

Or in this case, That pizza will be eaten, and I am thinking about eating other things. I'm not saying I'm not going to eat the pizza.

Like I said, if he wanted to confirm that the unnamed action game would not be on Wii U, he would have.

Analogy invalid because eat was used twice in your statement but "working on" and "looking into" are not synonyms.

I disagree with your interpretation. I think "action game" is a response to the first question, and "Wii U" is a response to the second, unrelated.

And I don't think he'd confirm any such thing even if he knew it was true. Devs like to keep this stuff ambiguous as long as possible so they can change because of market conditions.

as long as the game is good, I'll get it

What? All you've been saying is that this is a confirmation that the action game is not for Wii U. Now you say he wouldn't confirm it? Make up your mind! lol.

I think he knows it's not for Wii U but is unwilling to say that clearly.

Well then he certainly succeeded. There's nothing clear about that.

If he had said, "We are working on an action game, and we are looking into titles for Wii U," then it would have sounded more to me like he was saying the unnamed action game is not for Wii U. The "other" makes it more ambiguous, since it could be interpreted as "additional."

Either is still too vague to draw conclusions from.
