My prediction threads:

Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)

PS Vita will sell under 20m units (made on 30th September 2012)

Wii U will sell under 7m in 2013 - I was right

Halo 4 first 9 weeks sales prediction

I agree, compare 7th Gen consoles to 7th Gen consoles.

By current standings in the 7th Gen, the ps360 thus far has been blown out by Nintendo in terms of pure sales, both hardware and software wise. Could the ps3 catch the Wii eventually with it's strong 2013 lineup of games? Possibly, only time will tell, might take more than 3 more years to hash that one out.

Who will win the 8th Gen? Nintendo has about a 2.4 million lead currently. With the PS720stations set to release within the next 2 years, and Nintendo sure to release Zelda HD, 3D Mario U, and Mario Kart U, it could be a fierce battle. Who knows what tricks up their sleeves MSony might have with the Kinect 2.0 and Move/Playstations new motion sensing detachable controller.
