Heavy Rain.
The story is full of plotholes, the voice acting varies from acceptable to horrendous and the controls are fiddly and awkward. And those were three of the main things they really had to get right with this game. Also as an example of storytelling in games, it's terrible. There is no subtlety to anything, they just throw a bunch of high tension scenes at you without any rhyme or reason just so they can cry "Oh our game has emotions, look at all the emotions "
Though my main issue with the game is the fact that they claimed your actions would have consequences. But what they actually means is that during a few moments in the game there is a small chance the character you are controlling may die which might mean you won't see a small cutscene with them at the end of the game. I played the game several times, trying different things in order to see what difference it made to the storyline.Turns out, barely anything. One time I even played through the game deliberatly failing at everything and nothing changed until around two thirds of the way through (When the game had to end because all the characters were dead). And then you have David Cage saying "Oh well you should only play this game once, so you're always left wondering what would have happened if you'd made different choices". No David, i think what you meant was "You should only play this game once, so you don't realise I've conned you out of £40".
So yeah, I'm not a fan.
