A Game Faqs member claims that a sequel to Diddy Kong Racing is in the works for Wii U. The member, who goes by the name yakkiduck, says Monster Games is working on the project, which is supposedly releasing sometime next year.

The member also says the unconfirmed game will feature an adventure mode, online multiplayer, Miiverse implementation, and players will be able to race as their Mii characters.

If this rumor is true, which would you rather get first – another Mario Kart or Diddy Kong Racing – for Nintendo’s new Wii U console?

i would gladly sell my Sonic all star 2 copy and buy DKR U

apart from diddy kong the rest of the characters are owned by RARE right? so how will they work that out?

I definately didn't like DKR on the Wii, so I'd like a new Mario Kart game first.

Well, since Nintendo owns Diddy Kong and the Donkey Kong franchise, there would not be a big problem in using characters from there. 

I also read about this rumor earlier and saw that they will put in random animal characters from Nintendo owned IP's, like for example the armadillo in Dillon Rolling Western
